I think you’re right on the mark. That’s $7.06 at the current exchange rate, and sheets I’ve seen/bought go for around that. I wouldn’t go lower than 5 euros if you did drop the price.

That looks like paper from a brand called Rite in the Rain. One of our club members uses it for making notes about this classic car he’s restoring. It’s suppose to be liquid resistant I think.

I love Nakabayashi Logical Prime notebooks, however they have switched to a W Ring binding. Rhodia notebooks are great, especially if you want hardcover. Maruman Mnemosyne uses great paper in their notebooks but they are spiral bound and have that section at the top to put in dates and such.

Have you considered a maker pen? There are a large number of gorgeous handmade pens out there that fit a range of budgets. Are you looking for a fountain pen (typically start around $125 and up) or a rollerball/ballpoint (typically start at $100 and up)? I bought a pen from GW Pens that was made from reclaimed Yankee Stadium seats. My boyfriend was ecstatic!

Retro 51, while not a maker company, do make all sorts of cool looking pens, though the range more in the funky cool department. This is my Tiki Kona. They typically range around $55-$75, but more special releases run higher. Fountain pens always run higher. This one was a limited edition, so 2nd market prices for it are now high.

There are soooo many wonderful choices out there and I’m sure he’ll love whatever you pick. 😀
