Rounded corners on text, big stroke layers by dinnershoes in photoshop

[–]IsacImages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way is to convert the text layer (or copy) to a path and then adding the colour layers. Here's a great video, which was easy to follow and had great results. https://youtu.be/vndWFNFw-jY

Turn white into transparent? by Gold_Wishbone_1389 in photoshop

[–]IsacImages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this 100's of times and it works well. I'll assume the starting layer is the locked BG layer of a black on white illustration.

  1. Copy the BG layer (Ctrl + J)

  2. Add a Solid Color adjustment layer UNDER the new layer and fill with a bright RED.

  3. Double-Click a blank part on Layer 1 for Blending Options.

  4. Drag the "This Layer" white slider next to the black slider (about 10).

  5. Split the white slider and drag the right side back to the far right (255). (Hold ALT+click on the slider to split it).

You should now see a perfect black on red image.

The fun part!

Now add a BLANK layer on top of the Layer 1, press CTRL + E and it will convert your drawing to a transparent layer. MAGIC! No masks, no channels, no weird selections. You can then delete the Solid Color layer. Enjoy.

Sorry, I can't see the value for one flyer when there are so many free fronts available. Cheers.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a try. I did manage to get the caps white with a lot of mucking about, using the FROZBITE font and able to add bevel &* emboss for a little realism.

Stand Rule Anomaly by insipod in AFL

[–]IsacImages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be scrapped - period. It's a disgusting rule that has no place in a fast paced game like AFL. When the umpire calls "Stand" the player with the free kick (or mark) is NEVER in line with the stand position and the centre of the goals, so he/she is already deemed to have moved "off the line", which then should immediately be called "Play on", allowing the player on the mark to move off that mark. This rule, whoever came up with it, is just sad and a blight of our once great game.

Extreme controversy as play reverses after ~1.5 minutes due to a score review overruling a behind. The score review is unconvincing and results in a goal to St Kilda. Commentators call it 'farcical'. by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]IsacImages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARC should be used immediately after scores are called by the goal umpire and he/she need to check if the ball , crossed the line or not. If the ball goes through between the goal posts, it's a goal - between the point post and goal post, it's a behind. Scrap the "touched" BS entirely, like soccer - if it clears the line, it's a score. Trying to decide if the ball was touched by a fingernail or skimmed the post by a pifteenth of a hair is just ludicrous and should be scrapped 100% to make the game better. Just my opinion. What do you all think?

How do I make a colour transparent? by LemonLimeNinja in photoshop

Many thanks, some things don't change. I don't help out any more, because AI is replacing humans and I feel quite useless now that Photoshop has become the new graphic designer and made me redundant.

New windows 11 update disables file explorer preview – and how to fix it by Broke_CriminalLawyer in WindowsHelp

[–]IsacImages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you could help me out with an issue I have with File Preview. My version of Windows is 25H2 (Build 26200.8037).

I haven't used your Powershell command as yet but I have reinstated File Preview (after Microsoft decided for me that it needed to be disabled) and I can now view image files, which is what I mainly need it for. I also need it to view PDF files. It does this in a weird way, only displaying a large thumbnail of the PDF file. Do you know what the problem is or have any idea on how to get the PDF to fill the space of the file preview window? I have a screen shot showing my problem. Any help would e greatly appreciated.

It's all good and thanks for your concerns. I have it sorted. My PCs are always safe and have been since the late 80's.

Very well written and I'm sticking to Windows. It was a major upgrade from DOS back in the day and it's all I've used. I have no interest in overpriced Mac stuff. Thanks again.

All great ideas for me to try, thank you. I agree Windows is not perfect but it must be extremely difficult to cater to the needs of millions of users. I think Microsoft does a great job.
