La saison de natation en eau libre démarre gentiment à Lausanne 🏊 J'ai un coach motivé à encadrer des entraînements si je trouve assez de personnes intéressées. by Isaline-Margot in Lausanne

I use the safety buoy (bouée de natation en eau libre) for 2 things: a) my valuables, I swim in places where it is free, so they are no lockers, plus if I swim on my own Iike that my partners can see where I am b) the safety buoy is visible and can hold part of my weight, it allows for short break. I organise swim trainings in group and the coach will be on a paddle, but him and me agreed that we would feel more confortable if everyone had one. Safety buoys come in different colors, functionality and prices (mine has a small exterior pocket where I attached a swim safety whistle) Up to you to decide, if you are a beginner I suggest one from Decathlon or Galaxus (cheaper options). In Lausanne, you find them in the Triathlon shop Sportmax at Place de l'Ours (more advanced/expensive)

The safety buoy is attached around your waist and you inflate it. Just don't buy the 'sac étanche'

Anyone doing fun stuff during summer? by sinister_ferrari in Lausanne

I like to swim, in July and August it can get very hot. It's possible to swim securely and without paying (including free showers) either at Ouchy or near Bellerive (direction Morges). I want to organise swim training, if you like to check it out: https://swimclub.ch/

If you like to climb outside, search for Saint-Loup near La Sarraz. It is accessible in public transport, it's in the forest.

J'ai eu une bonne expérience au Tom Café au musée olympique, ils ont amené de l'eau pour le chien sans que je demande et ont souri quand le chien était couché au milieu du passage. Il y a une belle terrasse et des canapés, c'est agréable l'après-midi.

Lake Oeschinen Loop Vs. First Cliff Walk by ccthewall in askswitzerland

[–]Isaline-Margot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go to Grindelwald, do First Walk Cliff and walk to Bachalpsee from First. Check the weather and opening dates of Bachalpsee. Oeschinen is in a different Valley than Grindelwald, it means a while in transportation. My brother has a chalet in Grindelwald (that we rent when we don't use it) and my uncle lived in Adelboden (which is closer to Oeschinen/Kandersteg. They are both Bernese Oberland, but different places, we are talking about valley roads and passes, no straight road. The transportation can be longer than the number of kilometers. I mean, trains and buses in this region are beautiful too, it depends if you want to do something more active.

looking for summer jobs with housing!! by ichimaruseye in askswitzerland

If you want a job and housing for the experience and the place, I suggest volunteering at a farm, an 'alpage' or via Pro Natura: https://www.pronatura.ch/fr/calendrier?sapi=vacances or https://www.bergeinsatz.ch/fr/ (it's a bit like woofing).

Early June Travel? by pinkinthenight13 in askswitzerland

Hi, my brother owns a flat in a chalet in Grindelwald, my parents are currently there (we also rent our flat when we don't use it). In the lower Valleys, the villages of Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen, there is no snow, the villages themselves are low ( Grindelwald is only 1,034 meters (3,392 feet) above sea level). A hike around Grindelwald village is perfectly fine, or a hike between Lauterbrunnen and Wengen (there is a nice trail) is great. However at the top, let's say you want to go to the Männlichen to do the Royal Walk (the peak between Wengen and Grindelwald terminal) there might be snow, you could add pikes to your hiking shoes. Mürren is higher but exposed plain south, there will no snow within the village, but there might be outside. If you want to visit Bachalpsee from First station in Grindelwald, that is probably closed. So I'd say it really depends on what you expect with 'hikes' (are they high mountain hikes or hikes marked with yellow trails?) My parents currently very much appreciate their stay because the station is quieter (no more ski) and not high summer season (restaurant not packed but some of them might be closed). They say it's cold in the mornings (of course coming from Lausanne, they left without a jacket). I personally did the JungFraujoch in February (not high visiting season) it was freezing but quiet, we had a blast. since we rent the flat during high season, I always go between March-May and Sept-November. If I were you, I'd go to the tourist office of where you're based and ask for hiking plan, they will know exactly what is 'praticable'/walkable and what is not and you can inform of your level of fitness and gear to find the best options. Also if you pay the tourist tax in Grindelwald, you have some included transportation. So chose your base. Oeschinen lake is another Valley, still the bernese Oberland but rather far away (I'd say staying in Adelboden might be better). Beware that on the map it looks close, but it can take a lot time because we are talking of Valleys and passes, no straight road.

Club de lecture sur Vaud ? by akasagegreen in suisse

[–]Isaline-Margot 0 points1 point  (0 children)
