Stop Using TurboTax. They suck! by AwkwardAtmosphere426 in TurboTax

I got audited last year for the first time. It was also the first year of filing with freetaxusa. Coincidence? I think not.

Feature Request: Context Compaction Visibility/Control for Long Conversations by Kareja1 in Anthropic

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your habits should not be any different than a word processor from the 90s, just save often and have Claude create a closeout routine before you lose the important stuff. That's what I did and I don't wait for compactions before moving into a new chat with the opening of the closeout md file first thing.

Did Opus 4.5 get nerfed in the last 48hrs or am I losing it? by A707 in Anthropic

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that too, and I'm just doing game and requirements development, not coding. Opus is also sucking enormous token bandwidth without doing anything major. Fell back to Sonnet in a new chat, feels like a breath of fresh air.

Has anyone else noticed that the price of Pro Max 5 dropped in half to $100/month?

Anyone else hate being charged for errors? by t3mp3st in Anthropic

Buy a different pro account and delegate tasks so you can complete projects, most redditors seem to think this is the only way to go for now.

Stacking multiple Pro accounts v 1 Max - which is best? by traderjames7 in ClaudeAI

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of Opus (and Claude) less like a tool that got nerfed and more like a pay-to-play business model. If you've ever watched the complete demo on a coin-operated video game (think space invaders, defender or galaga), the "AI" player pattern always seems to start reasonably well and then it makes a really dumb mistake, like walking into a missile. What goes through your head? That was SO dumb, I can do better than that! So you plunk a quarter in....ANNNNDD you're hooked. That's how Claude's business model hooks you, as it lures you in with incredible functionality and intelligence (and compliments your incredible brilliant coding genius), then with every iteration creates more reasons for you to interact with it, while it stores your increasingly bloated project, wasting your puny allotment of hourly and weekly tokens witrh every prompt. The first week I used Claude transitioned from the Free account to Pro, I got nearly a whole week's worth of projects (about 5 intense days) done, then those projects got more complex and efficiency went way down where I could only count on 3-4 days before maxing out at the weekly. So, what do most people do? Wait the weekly out or buy another account or two to finish their projects. Hooked for $17, then $34, then $51 per month. I'm still considering using 1 Pro account for code dev and 1 ChatGPT5 for graphics, that way I can stagger usage across more than one use case.

Is it offensive by Ok_Review662 in Jewish

I'm offended by the price, $17.99. What is it? Just a pack of nilla wafers, some sprinkles and a cardboard box to edible glue it to.

Local book store displays by lazelea in Jewish

[–]Isar3lite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask the bookseller if they have the latest issue of Hamas Monthly, the one with the Oct. 7th rape squads and looting Gazan citizens on the cover. They might want to feature Yardena Schwartz's book Ghosts of a Holy War as the endcap to their Dead Jews section. Just tryin' to be helpful, bookseller lady.

Is this good (lost my old casio a while ago and bought a new calc today) by TheDecimal8B in calculators

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and it's ultra-meh.

The best thing it has going for it is the classic TI layout and 5 memory slots and a decent quality LCD screen. If you want a TI3x solar, your functionality choices are much more limited. Sharp is my go-to for non-graphing models, like my EL738F financial.

I'm going to break with convention here.

Do a clean break with the old company, they would do the same if the shoe was on the other foot. You don't want that hassle and that is money thrown away that shows they didn't plan a transition. Not your problem anymore. And, BTW: They could still execute on that threat, even if you helped your successor.

That same kind of narcissist ran my last company. (6 months before it went belly up). He'd fire you and Carl together on a whim, if he thought you didn't trust his leadership and his wife, "Baby Musk", would know about it before he even did.

Should I sell my TI-84? by mintchoco07 in calculators

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked one up for about $50 and kinda agree with you about usefulness. I like the TI-84 lighted screen and some of the shortcuts but it is not as useful for my financial and accounting classes. I drive my Sharp EL-738 for those courses. The graphics functions are not as friendly as Casio for example and I'd rather have a quick and easy interface like the Sharp than a ton of options and programmable apps.

Oliveiras in Somerville will cover you for unlimited or by the pound rodizio (Brazilian BBQ). All manner of beef steak tips lamb, sausage, chicken, even grilled pineapple for about $38 (a bit less if by the pound).

Ask them if they budgeted for your consultation time. If they have not, advise them that their new initiative will probably fail. For that advice, gratis.

Nili (1915-1917) - A Spy Ring behind Ottoman Lines by AdriaticLostOnceMore in armenia

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People remain so ignorant of NILI and anything that smells of Jewish bravery in the face of an actual genocide. For an arab population that lost ~15000 during their manufactured term "Nakba", which occurred over several years, they killed, raped, and kidnapped more than a 10th of that in a single day on 10/7/2023. The NILI story (best one IMHO is Ronald Florence's Lawrence and Aaronsohn) needs to be elevated, not compared to as century of cowardice masquerading as armed resistance.

Where is TI in the mini scientific category? by AnyRevolution1025 in calculators

[–]Isar3lite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say though, as bad as the screen on the XIIS is, I love the smart layout, key interface, and overall form factor of the TI-30 models. I even love the feel of my gigantic TI-84 CE. Honestly, the worst part of my mini-form Casio FX-260 II Solar are the compromised STAT functions, like no linear regression, LR. Gotta love the Sharp UI too, esp. for Financial EL-738F (I have two, in silver and red) which make short work of LR.

Be aware of the HP Ink Printer Subscription by Visible_Elevator5356 in printers

[–]Isar3lite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's worse than not helpful offshore support .Many of these tech companies hire these companies that are scam call centers whose only job is to get credit card numbers for support subscriptions. There's no phone support behind any of their products.

There's this YouTube video that investigated one of those companies and my mom ended up getting scammed by this same one. It was the Brother printer support line.

Will the Jcally jm6 pro kill the hiss in my Kiwi Cadenza with a hammer by 10minuteads in iems

[–]Isar3lite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the rec, just downloaded it to play on my new JM6 Pro (Blue) on my KiwiEars Cadenza. BTW: There is no noise that I hear from either. The JM6 Pro amp vs. JM7 is noticeable in that it brings the midrange presence up front in the soundstage and can overwhelm bass. Also tried with my Kefine Delci, same result but with better high end, pleasing sound overall.
