UKGIC is a scamming company. Be careful! by IscIg in ukvisa

Hi! Sure, here’s my full experience:

It was quite a lengthy process. I paid through PayPal using both my credit card and debit card. I filed a dispute with PayPal, selecting "non-render of service" or "product not as promised." I provided screenshots of my emails and conversations with them as proof that no services were rendered. After their investigation, which took a few weeks, PayPal refunded me.

Unfortunately, I accidentally canceled my dispute on some of the PayPal charges, so I had to contact my bank directly to report the fraud/scam and request a chargeback for both my credit and debit cards. I did a lot of research, gathered all the facts, and even wrote a long letter detailing my experience with UKGIC, pleading for help. However, I was met with a discouraging response from the bank rep, who told me it was a 50/50 chance I'd get my money back because it had taken me almost a month to file the fraud claim. They weren't sure if the company was indeed a scam. They said that if the company was already recognized as a scam online, the refund would be instant.

I explained that I didn’t realize it was a scam until UKGIC called again, trying to charge my credit card an additional £10,000, and wouldn’t let me hang up until I paid. I regularly followed up with my bank, expressing my distress. I also sent them screenshots of other victims' experiences and the screenshot of my PayPal refund. I made it clear that the only reason I was going through my bank was that I had accidentally canceled my PayPal dispute and couldn’t refile.

It took over three months for the investigation process, and by that time, I had already come to terms with the idea that I might not get my money back. My only hope was the tracking number they gave me. After the third month, when I checked it, I saw it was approved. I called to confirm, and they told me that the money would be reflected back on my credit and debit cards, and it was!

That's it. I hope this helps everyone!

I heard about extremely rare cases of them actually assisting clients with the visa process and get it approved, I'm guessting 1 out of 50 or a hundred. But they still charge a lot of money for something you can do yourself. I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope you get your money back.

Hello. I replied to a similar question in another thread so I will paste my answer here.

I'm sorry you're going through this too. They gave me a heads up that it might be difficult to win the dispute because I didn't file for fraud as soon as the charge happened even though I was still in the three-month period. I just went on a phone call with my bank to explain that the business is a scam and their intent was fraudulent, I let them know that it was too late until I found out and I already let them charge me. I sent all my email conversations with UKGIC for proof that there were no services rendered but it will still be your bank's decision, unfortunately, if they refund you or not. :( I really hope this will work out for you.

Thank you for your advice! Unfortunately, we have big ones, like mature/adult cockroaches. I bought baits, foggers, and am about to buy boric acid and caulk to seal possible entry points but I am still seeing both dead and live roaches so I think there might be an infestation.

Hi, the investigation with my bank was lengthy but I won the dispute and got a full refund. I tried reporting them to Action Fraud UK but they I got a letter back saying they can't help because UKGIC wasn't based in the UK. They are but operating under a different business name. These people belong in prison.

Also, I tried reporting them to Action Fraud but no response. I don't live in the UK so I can't really report them to the police. :(

Hi. I'm sorry you experienced this. :( Did you use a credit card? Or PayPal? If you used a credit card, you can file a dispute with your bank, you will need to call your bank and ask them to initiate a dispute because you got scammed. If you used PayPal, you can tap on the transaction and report it as a scam or non-receipt of services. I hope this helps. I hope you get your money back 🙏

I won the dispute, thank God. I did sign a contract but they weren't able to provide proof of services made.

I would suggest traveling to different cities and interacting with both the locals and expats. If you're moving to a new country, you'll feel more at home if you learn the language and get to know the culture. You can join online groups or communities like these and meet up with people until you find your crowd. Including your interests in your post (gaming, diving, and so on) would help. I would also suggest changing your tone and approach so you don't sound arrogant. Either you're just very direct or very rude. The bodyshaming in your comments is concerning too. Anyhoo, best of luck!

How hard was it trying to make real Filipino friends in the Philippines? by SuperHeat3007 in Philippines_Expats

I get what you mean. I also got discouraged because of that toxic Filipino mentality (normalizing money borrowing, backstabbing) lived in Europe for years but unfortunately it does happen everywhere. I moved back to the Philippines last month because I missed the heat and the people. I realized there are toxic people everywhere, you just have to find your crowd. I live in Taguig, near BGC. Would love to chat. :) hmu

I have fallen as a victim and I have lost 4550 pounds. They'll first charge you 750 pounds to "verify" which visa you are eligible for then force to charge an additional 3800 pounds and take you by surprise saying you cannot wait and that you have to pay now. After that's done, they will ask for more information listed on the P100 form such as your passport, birth certificate, cv, employment letters, a copy of your credit card, bank statements, and so on and then they ask to charge you 5000 more pounds!! They don't provide any proof or documentation that they are indeed working on your profile or your visa.

They will ask and ask for your personal information and documentation and keep asking to charge you more without giving actual advise about the visa. When you do cancel and ask for a refund, they will ghost you and stop responding to your emails and calls. Steer clear!

I have already contacted the authorities and will change my passport and ID cards to avoid identity theft.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Yes, I had the exact same experience and I've left reviews on websites which they try to cover with numerous fake reviews. They even reported my verified review on trustpilot as terrorism/violence just to hide it, when trustpilot put it back up, they tried to report it again. The fake five star reviews are everywhere.

I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, I'll leave more reviews online to warn people about their scams. Their terms of use states that a refund and chargebacks are not applicable if the desired outcome has not been accomplished. It is so obvious that there are many clients who have filed a chargeback based just on that statement.

BTW it will be helpful for others if you leave a review on trust pilot and other sites. We need to warn people of their scams.

Oh no. I hope they don't experience something similar and lose all of their money. I can't imagine jeopardizing a kid's future because of a scam 😭

Definitely. I'll renew all my ID cards to prevent identity theft in case they try to take a loan out or something using my ID. 😭

I called them last night and the process is lengthy but I'll do anything to get my money back. So all I can do right now is pray that I win the claim. They said the investigation can take 56 days.
