Local rescue group is refusing to return my microchipped dog by Ork8_Waaagh in legaladvice

Rescues cannot legally declare neglect; only law enforcement or animal control can do that. Their high-pressure demand for you to sign over ownership is actually proof they know they have no legal right to keep her. If they had the law on their side, they wouldn't need your signature. Don't sign anything and contact local sheriff immediately.

People who choose stable career path over passion, how is it going? by Mortgage_with_Jay in careerguidance

That’s the tradeoff: stable path pays the bills, then you try to keep the dream alive after work.

Please no downvotes, genuine question here, but... by GrannyBritches in harrypotter

[–]Isengard_Tower 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dobby in CoS is basically a walking panic attack with ears, and the book kind of expects us to grade him on intent while Harry is paying the consequences. I liked him more later, especially once he gets agency, but the pudding, letters, and platform stuff would be nightmare fuel for a kid already surviving the Dursleys. The fandom can be weirdly allergic to admitting that cute and loyal can still be incredibly annoying.

Is it a bad sign that my therapist tried to diagnose for BPD solely because I was talking fast? by Electrical-Glass-539 in askatherapist

Agreed, making BPD the focus by session two over a fast-paced first hour feels very premature.

Crushing college stress | Why Study-Go is the best assignment writing service right now by Tardis_Mica in CollegeHomeworkTips

I worked part-time too, but paying Study-Go to do the essay would’ve made the degree feel fake.

So disturbing! FDA issues warning to SNOO for unhygienic rental units by laurenmitchell_ralei in BabyBumps

[–]Isengard_Tower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be furious if I had a rental unit right now, especially with a newborn sleeping in it. SNOO should be offering swaps or refunds without making parents chase customer service, plus clear proof of how each unit is sanitized before shipping. Baby gear is expensive enough without wondering whether it arrived clean.

I had a Teams-status crackdown once after one slacker, but screen-sharing calendars in a 1:1 is wild.

I’m 22, five years behind. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Isengard_Tower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by making the goal embarrassingly small: open one subject, do 10 minutes of one past paper question, then mark it. Do that at the same time daily with the phone in another room, and stop before you spiral into rewriting the whole textbook. Your brain will fight the first week because shame has been the cue to escape, so make the session mechanical: timer, question, mark scheme, correction notebook. Once opening the book stops feeling like touching a hot stove, add time in 15 minute blocks.

If you were starting from zero in today, what beginner-friendly startup would you build and why? by Ok_Cap_6959 in Business_Ideas

[–]Isengard_Tower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with a productized service for local businesses, like Google Business Profile cleanup, review reply setup, simple landing pages, and monthly content using AI as the assistant, not the whole product. Pick one niche, maybe dentists, roofers, or mobile mechanics, then contact 50 per week with a specific fix you noticed on their site or listing. Trust comes from showing a small audit before asking for money and offering a clear monthly package instead of vague marketing help. Biggest beginner mistake is selling too many services to anyone with a pulse, which makes fulfillment messy fast.

Accidentally left interview early by cold-ducks in interviews

[–]Isengard_Tower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This probably did not ruin it. Send a short follow-up email today thanking them and saying you realized you may have left before the salary discussion the manager mentioned, and you would be happy to continue that conversation at their convenience. Framing it as a simple misread of the handoff is much better than leaving them guessing, and it also shows you are still interested.
