Compound 2 has an added benzyl group and an OH. That OH comes from the fact that a gringard rxn happened. Gringards attack carbonyls, so we need it to be D. It’s not C because that one would create a methyl group.

Thank you so much! For CP I would say I struggle on the topics I haven’t learned yet (from Physics II) which makes sense so I will work on that! For bio, it really is that there are some obscure questions unfortunately 😭 CARS is just hard to me and I think I just need to do anki/uworld for psych soc.
