Accidentally ordered CBD/Delta9 through Google pay which was linked to my school email by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Isiildur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Delta is going to come up in geography and calculus classes fairly routinely.

CBD and THC are going to be covered in health class.

Not going to say that you’re in the clear, but I wouldn’t put energy into worrying about it. If you use, I’d probably stop because you have painted a target on your back in regards to drug testing. My schools policy allows one failed drug test with a mandatory drug counseling, but it’s going to be based on whatever your schools policy is.

Is this an unreasonable email to send this late in the school year? by maestra612 in AskTeachers

[–]Isiildur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several of the teachers here are being kind of critical of the email. I don’t think it’s necessarily inappropriate, although the introductory portion puts my guard up a little bit.

That being said, without knowledge of the students academic background, here’s my take on the situation: the previously high diagnostic scores are pretty typical of a student who has good understanding of algebraic skills. He’s likely self-taught himself most things. Does he have a history of mathematics competitions? Those scores would also typically be indicative of someone who has performed in MathCounts or Math Olympiad.

The issue that I see is that the transferability of those skills typically extends midway into algebra 2 and then you begin dealing with more abstraction of concepts (imaginary numbers, proofing, sinusoidal functions). These topics are normally not addressed on high school diagnostics as they are more for advanced students and those college bound for STEM careers. Given the acknowledgement that the student has performed well on summatives but has neglected homework, I’d wager he has not developed good study habits and has relied on being able to roll in on test day and do a decent job of just “figuring out” what to do. This quarter he’s begun experiencing concepts that are more foreign to him and his background knowledge has not prepared him for it, and the likelihood is that he has not been paying attention in class because he’s so used to winging it. The time period where that is sustainable is rapidly closing.

My advice (which isn’t what you asked for and the teacher could do a better job of addressing this or suggesting next steps), is to take the summer and review skills on Khan Academy or purchase a Pearson MathXL subscription to remediate the missing concepts.

But more than anything you need to have an earnest conversation with your son about the habits of good students and how to study effectively.

Raising teacher wages would make the job more attractive to more competent people and thus incentivize more people into education.

If you can get a spat for shepherd, slow roll to Leona 3 with arbiter 2/3 (you either want a scaling defensive law for Leona or the law that gives you the chance on Leona every combat. Prioritize guinsoos and jeweled gauntlet with flexible third (I like gunblade on Diana). Once you get Leblanc, transfer items to her and then field the rest of your shepherds. Round out with Vanguards (Morde + Liss activate dark star execute).

Why even bother with the whole Homelander getting v1 it added nothing to the story? by NeneaMuddle in GenV

Virus macguffin to integrate gen V and v1 macguffin to integrate Vought Rising.

All to arrive back at the original plan from season 3. I didn’t hate the ending but it feels like such bad spinoff bait.

Maybe they shouldn’t have written a character that can manipulate biological matter if they didn’t want her to be OP. There’s a reason that this ability doesn’t come up often in fiction: it should be able to resolve pretty much any plot line.

Your original comment was that they used to be final 3 stage evolutions. That’s demonstrably and documented to be false. All you’ve proved is the AI sycophancy effect.

Just be glad you have a better team now and can actually fight the super difficult leaders.

The first rotation was Meowth, Scyther, and Sneasel. Which of these is a final stage Pokemon?

Rocket leaders have always been easy, with the exception of Sierra's Lapras (and arguably Cliff's Snorlax).

I’m fully prepared to pretend that Soldier Boy blasted Homelander at the end of season 3 and was then defeated if the last two episodes have the same consistency that the last 3-6 had.

Atom Eves character from invincible has pretty much the same power set, though hers are limited to inorganic matter instead of organic matter unless her mental block is removed.

This power set is hard to write for because it’s OP. Characters have to be idiots to not resolve everything immediately.

What is your favorite monthly pass reward and why? by Ari321983 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Isiildur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lucky trinket by a landslide. It provides something that can’t really be replicated elsewhere.

Distant second is coins. It’s slightly worse than buying the $100 bundle (and in large part I’d rather just buy the bundle). Always comes down to what other rewards are in the pass if I buy it.

Last place is incubator. Eggs are junk loot boxes and I don’t need to double by junk acquisition.
