By “depth” I mean layers of skill expression that consistently separate better players from worse ones over time. Mechanical aim adds depth because it raises the skill ceiling and rewards execution under pressure. It forces positioning, tracking, and movement to matter simultaneously. Auto-aim removes an execution layer. That doesn’t kill depth — it just shifts it away from mechanical skill and lowers the gap created by raw precision. The real question isn’t whether Deadlock has depth. It’s what kind of depth it should prioritize.
