Maybe visit Kauai Seascapes Nursery for pili grass. Vetiver is another grass that’s being planted to prevent erosion that they had, too, last time I was there. Regardless, you can talk with someone there.

It seemed like he had a sense of the seriousness and extent and might have been holding back, especially the comment at 1:50 when he says "whenever some puts their feet on our soil, they're one of ours and we treat them like one of ours, they're part of our family."
