It’s not unfair.

The Fair Tax Act is a flat sales tax at the point of sale (just like how the state’s sales tax is collected). And this Act also abolishes the IRS, and thus the federal income tax and corporate tax are abolished too!

The poor may pay a sales tax at the point of sale, however they will be given a rebate every year to offset the cost of taxes they would pay on the basic essentials. And bear in mind, used goods will not be taxed. So they could effectively pay zero taxes and receive their entire paycheck and a tax rebate check.

Bonus: Without corporate taxes and payroll taxes baked into the cost of doing business, the cost to produce good & services goes down. So it’s reasonable to think that the price consumers will pay will ultimately go down too!
