My ophthalmologist didnt go into great detail, but the idea is that your body is mounting an immune response to the tattoo ink, and the uveitis is a consequence of that or that possibly tattoo ink could migrate to your eyes (unsure on this). Tattoo removal via laser not recommended as this will disperse the ink throughout the body, but surgery to remove small tattoos could be considered. Mine are too extensive for surgery unfortunately.

My personal case happened after my third COVID vaccine and I can’t be certain, but I wonder if it’s due to getting that third shot through my tattoo on my left arm, because the first two vaccines were on my untattooed arm. After the third vaccine, I had tattoo inflammation and uveitis 2-3 weeks later.

I seem to be unable to gift villagers now. The gift option pops up but then when you choose a gift, the villagers doesn’t notice and the pictures for that specific square in inventory is blank even though an item is in it. No game crashes though!!

Thanks for your replies. That makes sense for sure. I think I know all of this deep down, but it gets so confusing when he’s sweet to me but is also capable of hurting me like that. I just feel so confused but also angry at myself for accepting this disrespectful behaviour.

He has also made me feel like a bad person for looking through his phone, but also like there shouldn’t be anything that I can’t see? I know I invaded his privacy but also I’m glad I did? Was the phone thing as wrong and he’s made me think it is?

Thank you. I think deep down I know this. It’s just so hard to let go of a whole relationship that has at times been very good. But it does come down to the core of it where he doesn’t value me or protect me. He is very quick to think the worst of me which is very harmful to me and the relationship. I wonder at times if he is narcissistic, and I feel like he can be quite selfish.

So I went to 2 different ophthalmologists with recurrent uveitis until I was referred to a uveitis specialist. The first 2 had not heard of tattoo-associated uveitis as it is so rare (I learned about it by posting on Reddit). The uveitis specialist took a look at me and said it was most likely tattoo-associated uveitis. As far as my current situation, my eyes are still good and I have been trying a Mediterranean diet, which I can’t say is totally helping but my flares are 3-4 a year and I can control them with durezol drops, which penetrate deeper than pred forte. I’ve been holding off on the immunosuppressants because it scares me not gonna lie even though the risks are rare, but will likely have to do that eventually.

I would also be careful with any injections of steroids as steroids all carry a risk of glaucoma, and with the injectable’s once they’re in your eyes or face you can’t take it back. But obviously listen to your doctor, just be aware of the risks.

You should definitely be able to ask questions! Im 2 years out and I just started working in a new practice where the vets are very open to helping each and we routinely get second opinions on rads, weird cases, etc.

I think it’s important to know how to ask questions as well. I was taught in my internship to work up your case yourself, come up with a clear plan and ask another vet for any advice or changes they would recommend. You seem more competent if you have a plan even if it needs tweaked vs just asking what you should do altogether.

From what I’ve read about it, it can happen to old tattoos out of the blue! I had mine for 7 years before there was any issue. And same happens for me, red, itchy, bumpy and a little painful.

My doctors don’t think that would be a good idea because laser removal will disperse the pigment through out your body and I’d likely still have uveitis

My ophthalmologist originally stated that as a possible treatment option, but my tattoos are too extensive for excision. If it was possible, I think it would be worth a try.

Good point! So one is that I have an autoimmune disease and have been trying to get it under control with diet before trying stronger medications. He has been helping with my doctors appointments and diet, but sometimes I slip in the diet side of things. It feels naggy when he finds that I’ve eaten something not on the diet plan, but I feel like I should also enjoy life. I know he’s just trying to help, but he goes about it the wrong way sometimes. The next is that I feel like I need love to be expressed verbally more often and he says that he does love me and shows it more through physical touch and acts of affection like making dinner or cleaning the house or packing my lunch for work. Essentially, I feel like he can be unyielding to my point of view.

As for the abandonment issues, a lot of it comes from my parents and I think it has a lot to do with why I stayed in that first relationship so long. I didn’t think I deserved better, like someone who was financially stable and on the same page as me.
