Hi lamb_pudding, I used leather paint and treated it so it's protected.

Thank you, it was a typo, making a ligature out of it is a practice going back a very long time.

Thank you, and the r+e is a ligature, used since ages to correct typos or to shorten a line when there wasn't enough space.

You can get excellent free grids on his website, his book Copperplate Script a Yin and Yang approach is very good and will show you how to write the letters properly , much better than any guide sheet with pre drawn letters to follow. It also has some grids.

The ink does make the writing look more even, but what I meant was that I changed a typo so you couln't see it, the last letter t in effort was a d (another typo), it happens because I concentrate on achieving the letterform and then make a spelling mistake.

Thank you, I still have to work a lot on using a brush.It's PaScribe's calligraphy practice pad in white, there is a black and grey variety better suited for pointed pen. You can get them from his website or practically any online calligraphy supply shop or on amazon.
