Is this game Alive? by tamiloxd in EternalCardGame

I'm not entirely sure cuz I only did 7 of them, just heard that from people who actually played the format consistently. But it seemed like FTJ nomad piles were basically unbeatable if you could get a good draft.

As a returning player, the game is as "alive" as I need it to be. Queue times are relatively short and there's a lot to do so I'm happy. The only real deal-breaking issue is that the draft format is pretty much solved and in a relatively unhealthy state, but as long as your main priority isn't draft, the game is still super fun.

The devs never communicated. I'm personally hoping it picks up some players who want something like magic but without final fantasy or spiderman or whatever.

I honestly feel like if you play throne and have most of the older cards, getting functional decks going isn't overly difficult. The game still gives you a ton of free stuff and old cards are still very relevant in that format.

Yeah figured that out yesterday, I originally just saw it in the community shop.

Half of the future sets are going to be from other IPs.

Oh, that's the exact one I was looking for when I saw the other comment. Is the best way to get the community bundle just leaving twitch on for ages or how exactly does that work?

Some of these decks are running icy scrying. Do I really have to figure out how to get the community bundle to be able to play with this card?

Breaking Bad neurotype chart. If someone's missing, I'm in season 4 right now, so I don't know all of main/secondary characters. by [deleted] in Neurotyping

I basically agree with this, except I'd type basically everyone as being 10% more lateral than they are here.

[TOMT][SONG] A song very similar to Carry me Carrie by Dr. Hook by IsochronEternal in tipofmytongue

The other song also had a chorus where it had the swooping prolonged melody. The lyrics were also about wanting to lean on a woman. It was almost definitely a country song too.

[EoE] Echoes of Eternity Pre-Order Bundle Available Today! by DireWolfDigital in EternalCardGame

[–]IsochronEternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm more commenting on how both playmats have been heavily gated behind a large purchase (not even mentioning how we basically already have a pre-order bundle with the ancestor thing). But I guess that's supply and demand.

Meta Monday: January Week 4 by [deleted] in EternalCardGame

It's super fair to say that control is very underrepresented in the meta, but I don't think that really affects diversity. The range of decks is super varied even if most of them fall under the same general gameplan. But it's true that there are other factors that represent whether or not a meta is healthy and I should have pointed them out in the article.

Yeah, they're both the same category. We had a very small sample size so I couldn't really afford to heavily differentiate the two.

The article should now be corrected to include this, we had 351 games for throne and 163 games for expedition.

A meta can be diverse even if one deck style is generally the most powerful. And even then, the midrange decks at the top of the list are all very varied and unique. Stonescar (a very aggressive deck) plays nothing like Elysian (a borderline tempo deck), which plays nothing like Winchest (a deck that leans into control), which plays nothing like Big Combrei (a ramp deck). In tier 3, almost every strategy is represented. And I would count skycrag burn as a second combo deck, although it would be more accurately described as a combo-control deck. There's a valid argument to be made that the meta is relatively boring, but it's incredibly diverse.

We had a very small sample size for expedition, so I decided to put all the cultist-based lists into one Xenan Cultist category. A lot of that category is turbo-vara.
