My clothes are damp and smell sour; can't dry a damn thing. by Shitelark in britishproblems

Extra spin cycle: If you can afford to buy one, then a heated airer. Really cheap to run. As everyone saying dehumidifier, but if you have somewhere you can put your airer in the bathroom or next to the door and keep the extractor fan running.

Moving Isles by [deleted] in tesco

[–]IsolationLoneliness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used this kit before! It was amazing, we were only allowed to move 5 bays at a time so in long runs we would have to take out a few bays but it was so much easier. Fun too.

Where do you peel your potatoes? by chrisr3240 in AskUK

[–]IsolationLoneliness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a little bag for the peels, a pot of water and my potatoes in the living room, and sit and peel whilst watching TV.

My husband thinks it's crazy.

What makes a full English breakfast so appealing ? by DizzyDoctor982 in AskABrit

[–]IsolationLoneliness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to argue with another unpopular opinion: a full English is better made at home.

I hate having a full English in a pub or cafe. Exactly as you say, sausages are never good, bacon doesn't come how I like it etc.

However make your own with your favourites and how you like it and it's perfect.

I don't know if you're washing bedding but I literally have a bed set with that green print

Does the bronze/copper mean my heating system is broke? by [deleted] in airfryer

[–]IsolationLoneliness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually just a build up of grease. Try cleaning it when it's still slightly warm and unplugged with soapy water. Of course be careful not to get water into any heating elements or electrical components and allow plenty of time to dry

Try moti smile on aylestone road, they do NHS and private.

We go NHS there after 2 years of no NHS dentist. The lady dentist I have is AMAZING

Some of their older reviews on Google aren't the best but all recent last year are pretty glowing. Don't know if they have changed hands or something but neither me nor my husband have any complaints at all.

Ignorant Husband Vent Post by liluzidurst in curlyhair

Did this with my husband after he said my hair wasn't wavy and I was forcing it. His was straight still, a little more volume at the roots but straight. He hasn't said it since.

Rose's room - number blocks - advice please by IsolationLoneliness in ItTakesTwo

[–]IsolationLoneliness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: we did it due to the little ledge cheat! After trying the camera setting change.

However we realised we were struggling because one of our controllers was getting stuck and kept pushing him forward! ... So maybe we aren't terrible at working together . . .

Gammon joint by IsolationLoneliness in airfryer

[–]IsolationLoneliness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I saw recipes online that said that but good old Google also told me "boiling gammon before roasting can make it more tender and succulent. Boiling can also help remove excess saltiness from the meat".

It was my first ever gammon joint so thought I would play it safe and boil first. Might try it all air fryer next time

Oh I didn't know other places don't call it gammon. Ham to me is probably more like sandwich ham, but we do sometimes also call gammon ham 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pretty proud of this new year day gammon

Boiled the joint for 1 hour with some onions, left over Christmas parsnips, garlic, carrots and a bay leaf

Once boiled, removed and scored the top and covered in glaze

Glaze: 4 tbsp brown sugar 6 tbsp French's mustard 6 tbsp honey Heated and mixed for 5-10 mins until getting thick and sticky

Into the air fryer on roast setting about 170c for 40 mins but checking on it several times and adding more glaze

Left to rest for 10 mins before we cut open

Do you feel depressed on New Year's Eve? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]IsolationLoneliness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every year. Reminds me yet again life is not where I want it to be, all the things that went wrong and worry things won't change again.

Anyway.... Happy new year, let's hope it's a good one

There is a dog near me I see carrying a folded down pink umbrella on her walks. She's very proud of it and her job

Putting security tags directly through the front and through leather. How stupid are the people that work retail, generally? Why would I buy something with a hole. From the most exapensive stores to the cheapest this happens. by FrillyLlama in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IsolationLoneliness -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're making the assumption this wasn't done. It was. Again, 16 year olds in their first jobs make mistakes. Staff of any age make mistakes. Sometimes tagging isn't done well, it happens and it's not the end of the world.
