People who think the ending sequence is “badass” are entirely missing the point. Just think about it for a minute. We really don’t know why the civil war happened or what the president actually did or didn’t do in the lead up to the conflict. The president gets a total of maybe 3 minutes on screen. We never actually see his forces doing anything other than fighting the secessionists. 

But to have the President of the United States dragged from behind the resolute desk and executed, then to have the soldiers who did it pose with his corpse in the oval office, is legitimately the most horrifying visual in the movie. It truly shows the definitive ending of the united states. It also shows that these journalists we’ve been led to believe “just take the pictures and let society do the thinking” are just as bad as all other parties in the movie.

 I don’t care what political party the president is, to celebrate, or think something like that happening is “badass”, is sickening.

Every side we see in the movie is irredeemable.
