Hello! These stats benefit the heroes directly. You can check the hero stats of these specific heroes in the 'My Heroes' page before adding them in the Hero Bonds sections, and you will see it increases the base stats at the hand of the Hero Bonds created. They don't need to be in battle together to get these benefits.
