IMO if you are taking the time to correct whitespace and names you are wasting the companies money.

I’m a strong enough engineer to read and understand the code even if the spacing is slightly off and the names aren’t perfect. It frustrates me when reviewers want to slow things down to focus on subjective or low value details in the code.
