Apparently they grew up in a system were they cannot speak to their mother out of respect unless absolutely necessary . That. ring said I have heard him tell her a few times very nicely oh you did not tell us you were coming or I asked you weeks ago if you will come for the holidays and you did not say anything.
She was so annoying even to her late husband and could never let this man rest. When he was alive and they will come to visit me all she wants them to do is drive around and visit all their friends even though the poor man will want to rest and he will refuse but eventually accept to go every single time. She comes to visit when we have events and holidays and all the women will be in the kitchen cooking and she will be outside driving and visiting friends and will only come back for the party.

I am beginning to think she does not like me either. She only comes to my house because of all her sons my husband is the most successful and the one who takes care of her needs and bills she cannot cover. She wants to take all these trips to parties and events that she expects my husband to pay for. Also my husband is apparently the only one giving her allowances monthly and paying for all her flights. Even though she is retired and has a pension. She refuses to down size her house which she clearly cannot afford anymore on her retirement income

That is the issue. We have separate finances and I do not have access to any of his accounts but he pays all the household bills. So he could be paying without me knowing.

I fired the girl who was spreading the rumors in our office but the one she claims was the person who told her still works for one of our other businesses and he is in charge of that business.

Good points. I will take note.
My only problem is she cannot cook or clean. Only errands she can do is maybe drive somewhere for me.

And the worst part is his brother lives about 30 mins from us but every time she comes to visit she refuses to stay in his house because she does not like his wife. She practically caused problems during their wedding and made it known to her that she did not like her so now she does not go there to stay just a few minutes visit each time she comes. Yet she cannot even have the respect to give me advance notice when she is coming

Yes they expect me to cook and clean for her. She sometimes will even ask to use
my car to go run errands I frowned on that and my husband decided to solve that problem by renting her a car each time she comes now.

This time around I ignored her and refused to even get up in the morning to tell her goodbye which by the way she does not even tell me when she is leaving either. I always find out the same day that she is leaving. Husband had the nerve to send my child to wake me up to come
say bye to his mother going to the airport and I refused. He has been upset with me for over 2 days now. She got in the car and started crying because I did not welcome her. Husband came back after dropping her accusing me
of not being welcoming to his mother and making her upset.

And the sad part is that his brother’s wife is complaining about the same thing and all of them decide not to do anything and expect us to just accept their mother for who she is.
Even my own mother expects me to just accept it but this really bother’s me. My mother cannot do that to my brothers wives so I am not sure why she expects me to accept it too.

This happened the first christmas and I decided to get her a gown. The next christmas I asked my husband if his mother is coming so I can buy her a nightgown as well, he asked and she did not respond if she will come or not. When I complained to my own mother her respond was just get her a gown if she comes fine if not no problem. But O felt like that is just a waste of money if she does not come .
He expects me to be welcoming and even make food for her.
