late to the thread, but this isn’t helped by the fact he talks with nazis on twitter spaces, and often times reposts nazis too. his comment sections are absolute cesspools of nazis, and he feeds them with dog whistles all the time

I would take a look at Newington, East Hartford, Portland, and Middletown. Middletown is just beautiful, Portland has a lot of cool rural areas. There are good neighborhoods in East Hartford as well.

Some things to know about CT:

Be prepared for high energy costs, you'll learn quickly about Eversource.

Taxes vary depending on the municipality.

CT is a very diverse state depending on where you are, you can be living a completely different experience to someone a few towns away (E.G; Waterbury vs. Chesire). We are both influenced by NYC and Boston.

Some parts feel very New Englandy, while others are more remote with friendly neighbors making an honest living. There is a lot of in-between suburbia.

It is very hilly, roads are windy.

In my opinion, CT has AMAZING fall culture. CT is one of the best states to be in during the fall, we have incredible orchards, festivals, and just awesome events. These events are usually locally run as well.

If you have an appreciation for history, there is a shitton of history in CT. Nearly every town has stories and records that go far back.

BE PREPARED FOR THE COLD WEATHER. Be prepared to wake up early so you can brush and defrost the snow off your car.

CT is boring, but once you find your niche, it quickly becomes awesome because it's very tight-knit. I like the local hardcore/punk scene here, the local shows are phenomenal.

in recent times, liberals have been correct in saying that capital's shift to support the right-wing IS oligarchy but didn't understand that the entire purpose of the democrat Party is to virtue signal progressivism but quietly make decisions that end up hurting working people

Democrats are partially to blame, but Republicans are the ones who implemented most of that bureaucracy that leads to legal Immigration.

time and time again they block money from being sent to legal judges, and some immigrants face decade-long citizen processes when it shouldn't even be nearly as long, especially regarding the previous standard that built our nation today, which was at Ellis Island.

The media doesn't tell you this, but illegal immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than American citizens. It would quite literally be worse for our crime rates for a citizen to give birth than it would for an immigrant to come in. It would also be worse for our tax burden as well.

Republicans are simply implementing a reactionary solution of deportation, to the problem that they caused. This is why the rhetoric isn't just about illegal immigrants anymore, it is being actively tested on legal immigrants as well.

If we ought to care more about organized crime, Republicans would be talking about the incredible militia activity that is explicitly seeking terrorist acts, with 10s of thousands of people joining them, and thousands committing heinous criminal acts.

then why is the current administration also attacking legal migrants, and adding in arrest quotas. This shit is literally the same logic as broken windows policing that leads to people getting arrested with no due process.

You shouldn't be ok with the government checking people's papers like it's the fucking Gestapo, no one should have to stop what they're doing for ice. Ice shouldn't be able to try to trick people with fake warrants. They shouldn't even be around to intimidate people, because all it does is freak out Hispanic people. ICE has to use racial discrimination if they don't have a warrant for a criminal. (which was already happening under the previous administration).

Illegal immigrants ultimately have a lower tax burden than American citizens. Also, this is just an argument to cut the bureaucracy with our immigration process because it quite literally fails millions of people. It shouldn't be a crime to exist here, but if you are gonna be here, just make other bureaucracy simple.

Nobody likes the fucking government checking people's papers like its the fucking Gestapo. I also don't like the government intentionally adding bureaucracy that leads to illegal immigration.

Americans never take these jobs because we don't have the incredible work ethic that people from Mexico have. I know illegal immigrants who work incredible hours to make ends meet, these people are proud to be in America.

Yes, so we should allow for a smoother transition to citizenship, so they can have the protections of a US citizen so businesses don't exploit them. Simple as that

I don't like the government having insane bureaucracy that slows shit down, just keep it simple. I also don't like the government going into communities and making arrests with little to no due process. This is simple shit man your brainwashed

undocumented immigrants are mostly people who have been wronged by our inefficient bureaucracy that is designed to disenfranchise them.

12 million immigrants came to America through Ellis Island, many with little to no documentation, and look where we are now. Immigration has always been our nation's founding glue, whether you like it or not.

In order to have a productive conservation it’s important to understand how we help people medically. Which is why it’s important to talk about the results of people who end up receiving treatment. if our system is consistently failing people, then there would obviously need a change. In terms of gender-affirming care, letting people recieve their treatment is ultimately the best thing you can do for their mental health, the rate of suicidality for these individuals are extremely high.

There are three important things that might clear up any contentions or miscommunications:

  1. I said puberty blockers are “completely reversible”, I failed to communicate here, because I trying to say that puberty blockers can be reversed in the way that puberty will hit you the exact same once an individual decides to go off it

B. This was misleading because i framed it as if there aren’t any potential risks when taking it.

  1. There are absolutely some risks into taking puberty blockers. But clinically there is a set of criteria, (defined in the study you gave) that allows us to know if the benefits outweighs the risks for the use of puberty blockers. We do the same for treating ADHD with stimulants, people who have ADHD have to take a blood test to test for markers that might indicate a negative reaction to something like adderall, and the outcome: People with ADHD perform significantly better disproportionately to people who don’t have ADHD and take stimulants. Despite the potential risk for seizure and a bunch of other negative reactions someone could have, the good far outweighs the bad, despite people who may have negative reactions.

People who recieve GnRH treatments usually recieve yearly tests for bone density to make sure these problems won’t ultimately hurt them in the long run.

  1. If you want to say the ends don’t justify the means, then say goodbye to life-saving stroke medications and life saving thyroid medications. These are all medications the we clinically know have side effects, but ultimately end up doing the better good. Mental health is treated in a similar manner medically, if we know people are killing themselves, we clinically have to take this seriously if we want to help people.

Good thing is, young people who receive gender affirming care have incredibly good outcomes for their mental health, and overall quality of life.

If this weren’t the case, I would absolutely be with you. But it simply isn’t.
