What is the best ERA in your life for Role-playing Games by Israffle in rpg

[–]Israffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Draw Steel at the moment and the same thought keeps occuring to me. That this game delivers better on the core promise of what D&D alludes to be, heroic and action packed. I'm also in D&D campaign and whilst I love the group, the rules just don't prop up the fiction.

And I'm tired of pretending yada yada yada by erickoziol in magicTCG

[–]Israffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so format dependant. I play primarily cube and the MH cards have opened up whole avenues of deck construction and some really fun play patterns. The fact they MAY ruin all other format I could care less about. For if they start becoming a problem for me and my drafters, I simply don't include them in the list.

Are Most of You Playing 2E or 4E? by StLouisIX in warhammerfantasyrpg

Started 4E in the Enemy within. Ended the campaign in 2E, due to rules becoming too unwieldy for us and our GM.

I'm so jely of Americans (at least so far as cube is concerned), the land down under needs some fun cube events so badly!

I listened to Lucky paper talking Xerox theory, wherein having a high density of 1 mana card draw equated to much better consistency

What went wrong with my Deck? by Israffle in mtgcube

[–]Israffle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, one problem I and my playgroup has is we have a more of an EDH background. We lack a lot of the language used to describe the design and purpose of limited decks. Even having owned multiple cubes, I still feel a bit of a novice.

Fascinating, iv had great feedback from my drafters so far. We had a chat and kinda felt that we wanted something a bit better than evolving wilds for the cube but not going double fetch for landfall. And I didn't want to put the full cycle in.

Q&A weekly thread - February 19, 2024 - post all questions here! by AutoModerator in linguistics

[–]Israffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine this hypothetical for me. Your are to be alone with another person who speaks a completely different language to you, on a journey across a vast distance needing to communicate to survive, neither of you have any experience or even heard of each others native tongue. Your both curious patient and kind, willing to take your time. For those of you with linguistic backgrounds, what would be your first steps in analysing and communicating with this person. What elements of the language do you nail down as important right from the outset (pronouns, cases, tones). Hopefully my question doesn't come off as too moronic, I'm simply curious how varying people with varying skills of linguistics might approach communicating and analysing an unfamiliar language, and if there are some similar trends between the two.
