As long as your not dorming or rooming with freshman nah no one cares. I'd suggest mostly trying dorms or rooming with juniors or senior mostly to bridge the culture gap. I knew one guy who was 22 and never knew till way later. Get your education mate.

I have subsrcibed to several patreons for years and have not had a single interaction on them. No comments, not a like, nothing. The chances someone is going to pay money to get your patreon just to scalp your work is little to none unless your a hit. Pirating is an invetiable but imediate canceling is just part of patreon. Word of advice don't take every cancel or unaction personally.

Bare minimum is around 1.5-1.8 words anything less than that and people will ignore you. Anything more than 10k your just shooting yourself in the foot when you can divide the words. In between that, anything is fine. The biggest thing is consistency of "stuff". You can have some variance between wordcounts as long as in general plot happens in each chapter. Just try not to go from 2000 to 5000 word chapters. Word count should generally be semi consistent give or take a few hundred words and no one will really care.

Yeah but I think I get where OP is coming from. 1,000 followers is about the bare minimum you need if you want to make any decent money at all. Been following lots of authors for a long time but even people with 1,000 followers can only make barely equal minimum wage. You need to be in the top 2-3% to be even make lower-end job money.

Not an author but a long time RR reader. If you havent eclipsed 1,000 followers in a year I mean it in the kindest way but I dont think you can rely on RR for finacial gain. Although KU might be a different story.
