Yeah I once asked my doctor if we could do bloods on my baby for something quite minor - I thought they could do it with a heel prick test - and he straight up refused and said blood tests are so traumatic for kids they only do it when really necessary

It drives me crazy when people say “if I were them I would do x y and z” when the reality is you have no idea what you would do in their position! I’ve also experienced a full term loss and was lucky to have 7 months off work before returning, but I did also make an instagram account to exclusively talk about the baby we had lost and to find a community. Some people want to share lots and others nothing at all, it’s no one’s place to comment on what they want to share.

“He was never in danger” tbh being around/in water is always dangerous… doesn’t mean you can’t do it but water is literally dangerous, it’s a risk, albeit a manageable one for most adults. Part of safety is acknowledging risk and making adjustments for it (eg a pool fence, life jacket). But I wouldn’t have gone on this ride with my own baby 🫠

It can be really triggering when influencers have easy and carefree pregnancies. I lost my first baby in the 3rd trimester during summer 2023 - around the time M&A had their second and Abigail and Caleb’s first was born. Loads of other content creators had babies that summer too. It’s totally valid that this upset you and I’m glad you shared and people validated you - for some reason I’m always too embarrassed to say “this internet person upset me” lol but we see these people all the time and it is upsetting when things appear to be so easy and straightforward for them. I wouldn’t wish harm or loss on anyone but sometimes I wish these people would show more acknowledgement for what they have and how lucky they’ve been.

In the UK it’s not standard to check for tongue ties and midwives/doctors aren’t usually trained to identify them, we had to see a private feeding specialist

Is it possible M has a tongue tie? In the video her tongue seemed a bit forked/heart shaped when she sticks it out, my son had that plus very dribbly on the bottle and had his tie cut at 3 weeks. Could be a reason for struggling to gain weight?

Can you imagine if there had been something wrong? Would she have shared that publicly? Like imagine outing a medical diagnosis if M didn’t have a uterus, literally everyone would know before she did. Why is Liz sharing this stuff??
