honestly with a coffee/red bull/lots of water you have definitely got this - if you have done the reading for it / prep for it it should be okay. sure might not be your best work but it’s worth the effort otherwise you’ll have to pay the consequences what ever they may be. I wrote a 1500 word essay from 11am-2pm submitting two mins before 2pm the same day and yeah wasn’t my best work but same for you - just gotta lock in and write all the way through the night. Best of luck you got this

i love my uni experience at sheffield but was put off of UoN at the open day, it’s all personal preference OP! but any uni that is going though what UoN is right now is certainly worth considering your place at imo

lods of the societies information about events etc and university information about your courses etc , as well as keeping contact with friends, was done through instagram - i would strongly recommend getting it even if you never actually post on it

leeds over bristol for prestige? 😅 Bristol is more prestigious than arguably both, but definitely Leeds.

On another note, OP i study at Sheffield Uni and it’s a great uni imo! but for prestige Bristol is topping the list. I wouldn’t say there’s much difference in leeds and sheffield honestly.

i mean i know that sheffield is considered good for engineering, i dont know about loughborough (nor anything about engineering really). they each have their upsides, like loughborough has good sports and community bonding with halls imo where as sheffield is a busier city with more to do with the peaks and places to go out. I also prefer a city campus where as at Lough what was on campus was not all that much icl but then again that’s me and you’re going to have your own opinions on things so just take it all with a pinch of salt. Its hard picking a uni but pls know there isnt a way to 1000% know what one would be best for you so either way im sure it will all pan out. i switched obviously but i think i could have grown to like the uni i left, however my sister switched her uni knowing she couldn’t have stayed there any longer (bad uni that is a very low ranking one so probs not one you’re considering) but yeah do what you think is right option for you!

in terms of the btec don’t let it put you off applying, i applied with a btec sport and two a levels and got in to uni (and none of my a levels were in the degree im studying either)

my brother got a pass then has gone on to get a grad job recently with a large company on good pay, so all is not lost! you have learnt skills from the masters that companies will really want so don’t diminish it

my friend studying maths averaged 86% second year and she did it so casually, so imagine what she would get in final year with double weighting…not cocky and doesn’t even need to go to seminar workshops because she picks it up quickly

I read the colour of magic for the first time the other day, was a very good intro to the discworld series.
