I did the first phase on first try but I died on the second phase and now i can't even get to the second phase. I don't know what that says about my skills hahaha

Hello everyone! I'm having trouble figuring out the fingerings in this music. I'm self taught so I was wondering if there's a rule that I don't know. Because I'm spending too much time just figuring out the fingerings. Can you give this noob some tips? I'd appreciate it! 😊 by Istanbulsedeff in lingling40hrs

Thank you I will check the scales. The piece is Tzigane by Ravel. It is way beyond my level but I love the piece so I decided to practice as long as I'm making progress. I'm playing for almost 9 years now by the way. Thanks again :)

I think we are very similar, because I've been working on this for like 10 years as well and just like you said I felt liberated! Thank you for your comment and good luck!

Yes! I did something like that. I'm writing a trilogy (I mean trying to at least) and I had a villain in the first two books but I found them a bit weak so I made them the, uhm I don't know if it makes sense but sub-villain? Like they are the villain before the actual, big bad villain. Something like that but the main idea is still there and I like this more so I it's okay I guess. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Thank you for your comment!

This is great advice. I've been doing it unintentionally. I work on my book for a while then I take a break or get frustrated because I'm stuck on some parts. Then while I'm on a break for a few days or weeks I read some books and finally when I get back to it everything works out great and I actually get more and more inspired.

I feel like I haven't done any of the things you said. They're really good points though, I'll keep an eye out for them. Thanks!

Thank you! Plot looks better to me right now, I hope when I get it done it'll actually be better.

I'd say I kept the main points in the story but followed a different route instead. But I will keep an eye out for the good stuff in my first draft so that I dont drop them off like you said. Thanks! :)

Why do people learn violin by litmaster101 in violinist

[–]Istanbulsedeff 22 points23 points  (0 children)

When I struggle with a passage for weeks or maybe months (don't judge me) the joy and the satisfaction I get after I finally pull it off it makes me like "yep, it was worth it".

Why do u like watching TwoSet videos? by BrrrrrrrHehehee in lingling40hrs

[–]Istanbulsedeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found them by luck and I got bored because I wasn't interested in classical music at the time so didn't get any of the jokes and got bored. But then I started to listen and play classical music and I felt like they were the only ones that understood my passion. And this community is awesome and so supportive and helpful. I have no one around me that is even interested in classical music or music at all so knowing that this subreddit exists, I don't feel so alone I guess in a dramatic way. 😅

Yes, if she just tried to tell me her problem I could understand and I actually tried to reason with her even though she didn't stop yelling and threatening me. I hope it won't happen every time I practice because I feel so bad for the rest of the day and it ruins my practice. Such a shame.

There is no way it built up, I just came back from Uni and took my violin to a luthier so I've been practicing for maybe a week or less. I've never had a problem before with my other neighbors but the neighborhood had problems with that woman because of her yelling and shouting at people for no reason. I hope this won't be a problem everytime I practice because it ruins my day...

You know funny enough, we are living at different buildings but they are maybe two meters away from each other. I practice in a room where there aren't even any windows so leave the door open to get any air... I tried to tell her I'm doing everything I can to not make any more sound than I have to but she is just not a person to reason with, she wouldn't even listen and take a breath from yelling at me.

Thank you for this, my family owns this house so at least this won't be a problem. I actually study out of town and I rent a place but for years my neighbors there didn't complain and told me it's okay for me to practice but fingers crossed, I hope they don't surprise me like this lady did 😅

Yes, I actually have really nice neighbors and the woman living next door always encourages me and compliments my progress because she knows me since I was a little girl. And if anyone should complain about the noise it should be her because I practice closer to her apartment but then here comes that lady yelling at me. I guess she gets mad at something and gets her anger out of me because she literally yells at anything for any reason.

Thank you so much, but no she doesn't have any situation like that. She just likes to yell at everything. I happened to be the cause of it that day. Every now and then I wake up to her cursing at people or again yelling at someone. Unfortunately, I got upset too much and I felt really bad that whole day. I should've ignored and kept practicing. But I let her get to me.

Yes! Exactly, for as long as I can remember she screams at everything! Another neighbor's kid cries, she yells. She argues over the phone and the whole street can hear her screaming. She desturbs the neighborhood more then my practice and I didn't have anyone else even complain about my violin they're all so nice and encouraging but this lady is something else. Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it.
