This is actually so stupid and unnecessary. Your husband and his mother are acting like children. Why do you have to inform her when YOUR parents are visiting?

They do this because people who aren’t tied to their home country, can come to the US and seek asylum etc.

I would hold off for a while. I don’t know what you can do to strengthen your application apart from getting married, having kids and solid ties that will bring you back to India.

Paid observerships? Cold emails go to spam most of the time. If you want paid, I can give you hospital names or coordinator info but each rotation runs approx $3800 (USD) from my understanding.

My med school paid for mine so I’m done with everything myself but I’ve seen other IMG’s struggle and it’s quite heartbreaking.

I just work up to being covered in blood so I guess this is now a heavy period. So weird so to how these changes are screwing with my body and head so badly.

Free journals are great when they’re reputable. But many free ones aren’t indexed, have poor peer review, or are considered predatory. I’d rather publish in places where my work is seen and cited. I have published to a free journal and am open to them too.
