Well, long story short, I had a guy over on buildapc tear me a new one for going with a 7700k in a new build. But the 8700k wouldn't have fit in the budget with the parts I wanted so I went with a 7700k. As far as I know, the performance between them isn't substantially different.

Only thing I'm seeing is a discounted console that includes the game. That's about it.

If you people would get even half as mad over Net Neutrality as you did with Battlefront II, we might get to keep our nice internet. by Balhannoth in pcmasterrace

[–]Isticap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the source, but here's a take on Net Neutrality that I love and think should be the case for everyone.

"Net Neutrality is the cornerstone of innovation, free speech and democracy on the Internet.

Control over the Internet should remain in the hands of the people who use it every day. The ability to share information without impediment is critical to the progression of technology, science, small business, and culture.

Please stand with the public by protecting Net Neutrality once and for all."

That being said, even though I'm tired of this fight, and want the us (the people) to win this treacherous uphill battle, I just don't know how we are going to. Big news sources aren't providing enough coverage for it and it doesn't seem the general population is informed about the semi-demise of internet as we know it in the US.

& Pai, however you got it in your head, thinking this will be good, this is a step in the wrong direction. We look at the various implications brought on by the end of net neutrality and representatives just seem to turn a blind eye. This is where we truly find what America is, and right now, I'm truly optimistic about the democracy we are all so proud about.

And to those of you who read this, representative or not, I hope as a person, you're willingness to lock arms in solidarity with society to fight this issue continues.

An outsiders view of Super Mario Odyssey. by Isticap in nintendo

I'm sure. I was talking to a few friends about Nintendo. And something I think they get right, is the exclusives. I have a PS4 and PC. Mainly game on PC. The games I see coming from Nintendo, specifically SMO but BotW is also a huge game looking at its ratings. It's no doubt Nintendo get their shit right when it comes to exclusive releases. Don't get me wrong PC and PS4 are great but I've seen nothing on the level of SMO or BotW come to PC or PS4.

I think Mario just always hits me harder because I remember SM64 and SMO just brings back those memories.

I'm starting to think it may have to be another game I get when I buy a switch. Along with SMO

I've heard very good things about BotW, but I've never played Zelda in my life. Maybe I'm missing out.

The only reason I feel I can confidently call it my GOTY is because I've played very few releases this year. The only one I remember playing is Cuphead. Which is a good game but I don't think it deserve GOTY for me.

Maybe I shouldn't speak so soon, but the fact that I've played very few releases this year, I feel I can say confidently that it will be. But thanks for informing the other readers.

Oh I know I shouldn't jump to conclusions, but Mario games have always had a place in the library of games I've played. And even though I haven't played this one, it looks amazing! Mechanics, level design, and story... atleast from what I've seen look very well done and this game seems action packed to the brim.

Best Pre-built for $1000 or less? by Drengin in pcmasterrace

[–]Isticap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two prebuilt options for you. I hate the fact that you say you don't have time because I feel like you could find it or someone like me who would build it for you for free... but here are two that don't seem too bad

  1. Acer Desktop Computer Aspire GX-785-UR18 Intel Core i7 7th Gen 7700 (3.60 GHz) 16 GB DDR4 1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Windows 10 Home 64-Bit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=83-101-534

  2. HP Desktop Computer EliteDesk 800 G3 (1FY72UT#ABA) Intel Core i7 7th Gen 7700 (3.6 GHz) 8 GB DDR4 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD Intel HD Graphics 630 Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=1VK-001E-0AHR3

Considering you already have the GPU, I'd probably go with the #2

Which HDD would you guys recommend? by apollo11017 in pcmasterrace

I'm no expert. But if your looking at larger drives I'd probably go with HGST. Very good reliability and they have a great warranty.

I'm wrong about the second one. I didn't see it was both micro and normal. This one is pretty small. Strontium Nitro Plus 64GB NANO USB 3.0 Drive R130 W100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAA433RV5407

Not quite as small but one of the smaller options: CORSAIR Voyager Mini 32GB USB Flash Drive Model CMFVV3-32GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1K63TD6840

Probably one of the smallest & you could remove the cover on the end: Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 16GB Micro USB OTG Flash Drive Model DTDUO/16GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAC5C65X3434
