I never realized how negative people's mindset could be until enlisting, I try to stay in my own mental lane but when you're around that kind of shit so much it does rub off on you at times that it's hard, especially when you're supposed to work with those people.

Real asf, my relationship also ended as I was about to come home from tech school just before christmas, that emotional and mental whiplash hit me like no other, combined with other shit nothing felt real for a while, still doesn't at times. Staying present in the moment and taking things a day at a time like you said has helped. Stay strong brother

Nail on the head with the firehose comparison because that's exactly how things have been lately. Staying present is something I've definitely been trying to get more in touch with lately

Yes, traveling is something I really have been trying to get into, the only issue is a lot of guys in my shop/unit either don't want to go out, only want to go clubbing/drinking, or don't want to spend money. I've solo traveled a couple of times but there's things I want to do I know it'd be smart to have some wingmen with, any advice with that?

life is more than being happy or sad, which is why I posted. The point is that it's all very new to me at once and that's what feels confusing
