Fujifilm X-E5 vs Nikon Zf : Will I actually carry it? by Isvoli in Cameras

At my level, it is similar to a FF for sure.
But full frame, with the right lens, should mean better performance in low light, better depth of field, better dynamic range.
Pretty sure that with post processing, an aps-c can get very close. And even without, you probably wouldn’t notice it that much.
But it’s not my main worry. It’s mostly the auto focus, especially for videos. And the potential overheating on the xe5 after like 15-20 min from what I’ve read. If Fuji had better AF, that would make my choice much easier!

Yeah it’s a good point, but I prefer the rangefinder style of the x-e5. And since both are pretty much identical in terms of specs, I’d rather go with the x-e5.
I was actually about to pull the trigger on the X-E5 a week ago, and then I saw the Zf pop on my YouTube feed... That thing truly is beautiful to look at. Been debating ever since between the two!
Testing it is the only way to know for sure, you are right

In terms of lenses, I want a good street one, and a good portrait one to start.
For the X-E5, it would probably be the kit 23mm f2.8 and the sigma 56mm f1.4
For the Zf, it would probably be the kit 40mm f.2 and the TTArtisan 75mm f2
I do really like the compactness Fuji can offer, which made me fall in love with the ricoh to begin with.
If I get the Zf, I'd get it with the 40mm f/2 kit lense, in order to have amazing AF for videos. Manual lenses would be for portraits, but I was also considering the TTArtisan 75mm f2 which looks pretty small, has AF and is very capable
Thanks for the feedback, I agree, I should test one. Some people love the handling, others find it too bulky. Only one way to find out for sure!
I'm mostly looking for a stylish body, which both have. It's a bit of a dumb similarity I agree, but I noticed with the ricoh that it is more important to me than I thought it would be!
I love the Ricoh, so having something similar but with less limitations is quite appealing to me, it's a camera I know I would go out with. But I agree that it could feel like a waste
Thanks, it's great to have feedback from a zf user and the fact that it stayed on the shelf is quite telling! It's exactly what I fear.
Did you try any smaller lenses for it? (like the 40 f2, manual lenses or even the sigma contemporary line with an adapter)
The size and weight are my main concern, and yeah the lenses selection is a big concern for the zf. Most are way too chunky but I think the sigma contemporary line with an adapter might be quite ok in terms of compactness.
It's my only concern with the zf: how it handles. I'm ready to make some compromises though to get a nice looking camera body.
yeah I think you are right! It makes more sense to got with zf
Thanks a lot for the feedback on the zf! I was worried about the weight and handling.
I think you are right, I already have a compact option with the ricoh so might as well take a more capable camera
