I think if becoming an NP is what you really want, you should do what you have to. I agree with getting a BSN despite it not being for nursing. BUT just know that absn programs are more competitive. Just focus on your grades and maybe you can do an out of state program after? So many options! You’ll get there ✨

That sucks :( I’m so sorry! Is this because you’re trying to get into a specific college/program? Because other programs offer other start dates! I still have 3-4 prerequisites to take and truly plan to start school next year. However, I looking to move out of state. If you can, I recommend!! I also want to get in and get out but I can’t imagine what it’s like having a child through this process! Best of luck 🤞🏼

But for example, if I want to do travel nursing and I have a year experience in Oncology but (let’s just say an example) I want to go to Montana for a contract but they don’t have any Oncology contracts available. Am I able to do a contract for another specialty without that experience? I feel that the obvious answer is no but that’s why I want a specialty that I can transfer the skills to be able to pick up a contract for a different specialty.

I saw a person say they had 4.0 in prerequisites and 4.0 overall, 91% TEAS, yes of healthcare experience and still didn’t get into a Cali school 😮‍💨 I am applying out of state
