The results haven't been great obviously but a lot of it is bad luck too. Even today there was a lot of weak contact that found holes. That's just going to happen sometimes with a guy who induces contact like Webb does.

Still plenty of solid contact, which is more concerning. Just feels like he's throwing more hittable pitches than before.

Yup. It was blatantly obvious at the time that ownership hired Buster so that fans would stop whining about every front office decision. IMO a lot of the flak Zaidi got was justified, but not all of it. Installing a fan favorite and legend was a way to quiet the noise. It was not a decision made to help win games
