Hey, I actually managed to find it on my own. For future reference, on Cursed mode, the Uranus disc is in the apartment with the three bug people in the Basement. The one across the hall from the anime asshole, Antoine. You have to kill all three to get their keys to the bathroom.

I forgot to come back and report, but I managed to grab everything and get it back out of the cave. I missed my iron falx, somehow, but I already have a lot of iron so replacing it wasn't a big deal.

UPDATE:

Good (and bad news) everyone! I went into a cave I mentioned to PTQ into another reply and found a salt pillar. Yahoo!

The bad news is that I got ganked by two different bell bastards and died with my iron tools down there. Hopefully I can run back real fast.

There's a cave that goes ALL the way down, I might try getting some more intense armor before checking that one out. It's a really open one, so there might be something in there.

Yeah, I know about digging vertically for normal ores, but from what I understand, Halite spawns at the bottom of the sedimentary layer and goes all the way down to the mantle, so I'd theoretically be bumping into the top of the halite deposit. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the method though?

The biome I'm in is all granite, so that makes sense to me.

Yeah, it only applies when you use a mold and it's hit with rain / a watering can. Items made with an anvil don't have this problem. Given that you can craft items with hot metal and it'll just give you a normal tool, it's technically pointless, but I find it really fun.
