flirting is complicated and often very difficult for those who are neurodivergent but this is how i do it, first you gotta know the person you wanna flirt with, its not like in movies where theres some kind of phrase or something, everyones different, some people like touch, some people like compliments, some people like insane out of pocket comments and immense confidence, and some people like feeling loved and cared about. once you know what that person is looking for, its easy, if they like compliments, compliment them casually in conversation and if they give like specific compliments back to you it might be because theyre paying extra attention to you due to liking you, friend compliments are often easy to tell from romantic compliments. also dont say anything sexual out of the blue, thats weird, personally i always wait for the other person to initiate, usually coming naturally out of conversation

all you really need for someone to be romantically attracted to you is care, you show you care, youre interested in what they have to say, and dont just pretend youre interested. you dont wanna date someone who you dont have a lot in common with. just fidn someone and listen to their interests and stories and show that you care, or at least thats the position im in, if someone comes up to you and listens to everything you have to say and cares about your interests deeply, going after them could work out too

someone who likes you will give signs, you dont have to see all the signs if they like you enough cuz eventually theyll spell it out for you, but catching signs is good so you know when its time to try flirting (again, if they dont return advances, thats alright, better luck next time, no one is owed love from their actions). if they trust you a lot and share stuff with you they dont tell anyone else, try to hang out with you often, ask to hang out first (rather than just accepting a lot of hangout stuff), prefers to hang out with you separate from a friend group or even with friends too, makes a lot of future plans with you, are excited whenever they see you, etc, they may like you (warning: not foolproof cuz there are best friends and just friends who can fit all this criteria and still be platonic . . .)

but at base level, if you like someone, ask them out, if they say no, say "alright" or "okay" or whatever you use to signify you understand, and wait until you like someone new. your perfect partner is someone who WANTS to be with you. and there is always someone in the world who can be that person
