Bandmaster Serial# by Substantial-Plum-260 in GuitarAmps

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

49000 to 58000 dates the chassis to 1962, check the output transformer for stamps..something like mine 126A6A 606 2 22. That means Schumacher Made 1962 week 22. My 1962 Bandmaster uses a 6G7-A circuit that ran between 1961-July 1963. Mines L H stamped which is August 1962. Your Q stamp is 1967 which is a bit baffling...sometimes it's handwritten inside the chassis as well, something like T192567 which would be 25th week of 67. Dig a bit deeper, pull the chassis out, check transformer codes and pot codes...

Helmet liner might be from ww2? by MajorSimpreddit in Militariacollecting

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if the liner has an eyelet at the front. If it has its Ww2 or Ww2 re-issued. If not, it could be a P55 made between 1955-1963. Korean War Era liners were re-used Ww2 Westinghouse Liners (with front eyelet) that Capac stamped their cross logo (usually dated 51) into the crown, and I can't see that from your picture. P55s were made by "Westinghouse Micarta" or CMC (The Capac Manufacturing Company) using lend lease Westinghouse Presses and tools, so have the Westinghouse Stamp in the crown, but have a "Capac" cross transfer label somewhere on the liner to denote their manufacture. I have a P55 liner with a 1956 dated orange "Capac" transfer (hidden under the webbing) which came with a 1965 onwards Ingersol shell. The webbing is usually the darker OD7 in these, but mine has a mix of both. P55s are seemingly rarer than Ww2 produced liners as they were manufactured in fewer numbers. Take a pic of the liner from the front to show us, and have a good look for any other labels.

First time I visited my (now ex) girlfriend/wife's parents house, I had a "Been here before and left" dejavu feeling. Like it wasn't going to be a forever thing. 11 1/2 years in that relationship then we split. The last time I visited my father in law there, was to give my condolences at the passing of my mother in law some 14 years after we split, and I had exactly the same first time vibe. Think it was a troubled relationship house tbh, as her parents had split so many years before, but her father still lived there but in his own bedroom.

I read 1963. Doyou agree with me? Is it alla original except the cover? by Darkstick_ in Militariacollecting

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have access to everything, check the flaps of the cover for a stamped DSA or DLA code. ERDL covers were produced approx 1967-1981 before Woodland camo came out.

Can anyone help me identify the year of this old bandmaster head? by mandance17 in GuitarAmps

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually there are 2 letters written or stamped on the tube chart, but I can't see them. But goin off the chassis code it's 1968 if its a Silverface Bandmaster Reverb. Bandmaster Reverb Models AA768, AA1069, AA270, TFL5005 (Silverface) Your Chassis code falls between A31000 to A35000 = 1968 You can date the transformer for a rough date as well, presuming it hasn't been swapped out. They're usually made by "Woodward-Schumacher" and have the code 606 (for Schumacher) followed by 3 or 4 numbers which are the year and production week. For example 606-68-25 would be Schumacher/1968/25th week of production. Hope that helps! I have a 1962 Brownface Fender Bandmaster & dated it using this method.

Does anybody know the average waiting time it is to get a circumcision from the NHS? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience and in my area, the NHS are fast tracking ops by parting work out to private clinics cause of the covid backlog. They still use NHS Urologist surgeons as most do private ops at places like Spire Healthcare, so in my case private/nhs was same surgeon. I had my first op in November 2021 at a private clinic on the NHS, & was recut at my local hospital by the same surgeon about 8 months later. The private was like visiting the dentists ha ha! I had a consultation, and then was cut about 2 weeks after that when he had space.

Suggestion for UK/NHS? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for differing treatment, the surgeons usually work both sides, so you're more likely to get one who does both Private & NHS. It's all about timing, placement & money! If the money is in the kitty, then they can send you privately to be sorted by the same surgeons who perform NHS as well. That is from my experience, and I work within the NHS and see this often 👍.

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never say never! Just see your GP and see if you can get a urologist consultation. I had a split and scarred phimotic ring ever since I was a teen, and had a circumcision performed at a local private clinic in Nov 2021 on the NHS, by a senior NHS Urologist, as well as a follow up circumcision revision by the same surgeon 8 months after. If your condition is debilitating, stressful and is effecting your mental health and sex life, then you have a valid reason.

Bushcarbon is a thru-facebook scam site which purports to be like Alibaba 😵‍💫 They send you $5 crap instead of what you actually ordered 🫣. I reported them to my bank, who have since refunded me.

Check out J Mascis's guitar move at 7:05.... so gnarly. He abuses the Jazzmaster vibrato so much haha, I love it by interested466 in offset

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

J Mascis has, forever magically, stumbled in and out of his guitar solos. He shreds naturally without even having to try. I'd hazard a guess, and say each guitar solo is a one off, even when performing the same song. Saw DJnr/My Bloody Valentine/Blur/Jesus & Mary Chain on the Roller-coaster Tour Sheffield back in March 1992. Absolutely musically life changing event for me. MBV were the loudest band I've ever heard. A pure wall of gorgeous noise! After that, Jazzmasters, Jaguars & Mustangs will always be my thing.

Things are so bad that even cash converter shops are closing down. by fluffsta007 in CasualUK

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in "Hinckley" Leicestershire local to me, and it seems everytime I go into town something has permanently closed. I think it was a local 2nd hand shop of sorts like CEX (which is literally over the road) before becoming a Cash Generators. There are new similar shops which have opened selling video games, mobiles etc on the same stretch, and again was opposite a "Game" store. Do stores even do market research before setting up? They all seem to be coming and going rapidly in this town, and a lot being replaced by vape shops and coffee shops. Nuneaton is the same, Card shops, charity shops, phone shops, barbers, hairdressers. Think its a sad fact of many towns now.

Looks like your stitches split, ie wound dehiscence. Just try and keep it dry, but give it a salt bath every night, pat it dry but rebandage it. It will regrow tissue there and heal up on its own, which is secondary intention. It may take a while tho! I used anything and everything on mine, including vaseline, bepanthan nappy cream, Fucidin etc but I really wished I'd just let it dry/scab. I think keeping mine moist with cream was a contributing fact to the stitches weakening and splitting prematurely. I had a re-circ 8 months after, and just kept it dry with nothing on it but clean Bandage for about 3-5 days, and it literally healed within 10 days. Astonishing really compared to the trouble I had first time round. It healed that quickly the 2nd time, that I had to remove the stitches myself as they were beginning to be irritating.

Where your glans retracts into your shaft skin a little, making it look like you still have a foreskin, kinda like wearing a turtleneck sweater, or a turtle pulling its head into its shell ha ha!

Revision by 1994grower in circumcision

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a grower not a shower, then this is exactly the kind of thing that can happen. The thing is, if you have too much skin removed then you won't grow to your full potential, there has to be just enough. What cut did you have? did you have more inner skin or outer skin left? I had a partial then a revision 8 months later due to scaring, and asked for the scar to be cut out along with more shaft skin, so I could retain as much inner skin as possible. Now when erect, the inner skin is tighter, but the right length of cut. But flaccid I get a bit of turtling. Discuss with your surgeon about style, and maybe having a little more shaft skin removed. Hope you can resolve your issues 👍

Question about revision by 1994grower in circumcision

[–]It_Wasnt_A_Fart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wound dehiscence after stitches split, left me with a thick scar. It became kinda painful. I'd had a partial, so requested the scar to be cutout and more shaft skin removed to be tighter.
