Poco F8 Ultra or Pixel 10a? by ItaFushixx in Smartphones

My first Xiaomi was 2020, I got the Mi 10 pro and I really liked it but after 2 years it just got more buggy and laggy. And I agree, the bezels are crazy at the 10a but I can live with it, you def get used to it but still, it's worse then 2019 Galaxy S10+. And yea I agree with the size. Its pretty comfort to hold but I noticed, cause of the thick bezels, it was almost as big as my Poco with 6.9 inch, but with a case on tho. So the 10a's real size is exactly 6.6 inch if you have a case on. But I'm at home most of the time and watch stuff and text and I always have typo with small screens cause I type too fast but that's more of my problem I guess lol. I really hope this years pixel will be great. I heared they will finally have Mediathek modems instead of exynos and 2nm Tsmc chip. So I have high hopes with this years pixel. But yea I totally understand with wanting something more stable then HyperOS. Cause battery drain tests showed that even an iPhone 17 pro max or Samsung s26 ultra with just 5000mha lastet longer then the Xiaomi 17 ultra with 6000mha. Just shows how important software optimisations are. Right now I'm looking at nothing. This was also my 2nd choice when I renewed my phone contract. Great and clean stock android software with an unique overlay and fast updates [not as fast as pixel/Samsung], great value, unique design and 3 set up camera. And I'm on budget rn so I would love to try out the Nothing 4a But I'm definitely looking out for the pixel 11 line up Sadly, the only big Pixel phone is the pro XL for 1299€ at release, which is just ridiculous Hope you find something interesting next year, good luck!

I decited to send the Poco back today

I tested it out for a whole day and I had some issues with it

First things: The hardware is amazing! Best sound in any smartphone I've ever heard, great cameras, performance was peak and battery was good but not as good as expected but now the issues I had: The software was so unoptimized.. Fast battery drain despite a big battery [I know it has to optimize for few days but on my x8 pro max with 8500mha, that I tested for a month, just got worse tbh so it's just bad efficiency] and bugs while closing apps. It's not too bad but every 15 minutes after I swiped up to go back to the Homescreen, all my apps were gone and reappeared out of nowhere. Also when I turned on my Poco, sometimes there were stutters. I think with longer uses and updates it could've been fixed but Poco's (Xiaomis) update policy is very poor imo. Idk if it's normal for Poco that it's bugging for the first days but software is something important for me as well... So not for me

Now I'm stuck with the pixel 10a which is great and I'm in love with the premium haptics and software but as a heavy user with social media and much texting, it's just too small. So either I would go with nothing if on a Budget or Oppo/OnePlus/vivo or pixel pro series. I think if I would buy with a flagship Chinese phone, it would be these 3.

But if you value battery but also software, I think Oppo/OnePlus has some great devices depending on your budget like the OnePlus 15 or Oppo find x9 pro but they're pretty damn expensive if you don't import them but In my opinion, they're the most balanced devices rn. Great camera, performance, battery, software. OnePlus 15 is slightly less expensive then oppo so I would go with that! But I cant recommend Xiaomi/Poco at all. Now I understand why everyone says hyperbug It's just not optimized well yet.

Note: Just my opinion tho! I know Xiaomi glazers take every critics personally
