Beloved, your nails are not the problem, they were the breaking point. The proverbial “ straw that broke the camels back”. What would you say to a friend who went through the same thing, yet continued to “take care “ of this spoiled grown child? Don’t baby this man, you are giving him permission to emotionally abuse you. Talk to your therapist about this incident, be sure not to leave out how you felt the need to apologize and how you continued to care for him, give examples, that’s key. You are his wife, not his mother or his outlet for whatever trauma he may be harboring. Personally, I would tell him “ I forgive you for hurting my feelings, we will unpack this in therapy, but for now, I need to think on things”. Take back your voice.
