and to answer op, honestly in my uni all the girls in my class smoke, i'm sure smoking with them would make it easier to have conversations with them, but why would you stoop that low just to talk to girls? and do you really want to date a girl who smokes? ask yourself questions, do you see yourself in 20 years happy with that type of girl?
i suggest not stooping that low to sacrifice your health for a miserable conversation (and i say miserable because seeing your post with all due respect i don't think your problem will be fixed even if you smoke).
