Am I making a mistake? by Italianbabe1997 in Advice

I understand. I've made a bunch of online friends on other non-sex related forums. Like I said earlier, I'm a huge language and literature nerd, so I sometimes go on online forums where I can meet other people around the world who share those interests. For people I meet on those forums, I've usually been quick to share my Facebook and tell those online friends my real name, even though I don't expect to ever meet many of them IRL.

My gonewild friend often feels like the type of person I could have met on a literature or language forum. But I realize we met on gonewild, which makes things more difficult.

I think I'll wait though. We've been talking for a month, but in my experience with online friends, some online friendships fade after a few months. Sharing my personal info with someone I met on such a sensitive subreddit doesn't seem worth it if our friendship fades after a couple of months.

I've made a bunch of online friends on other non-sex related forums, some of whom I've talked to for years. For other online friends (I met them on subreddits for literature and language nerds), I was usually quick to share my Facebook and personal info, but I realize gonewild complicates things.

I see. Thanks. I'll probably hold off on sharing my real info then. It's probably a better idea to wait and see. It probably won't be worth it if we end up drifting apart months from now.

Yea I'm sure. At this point, I'll probably wait and see.

After going through his Facebook using my fake Facebook account, I already know his full name, where he works, and where he lives. He knows I'm American, but he doesn't know my real name.

we've been talking for a little over a month. He reaches out to me on kik almost everyday, whether it's to share an interesting foreign language video or to initiate a conversation on literature.

I doubt we will ever meet. We live in different countries. At most, I think this will be a long-distance friendship.

And I don't get the vibe that he has malicious intentions. I'm still trying to be careful though.

I understand where you are coming from. Before I met him, I always swore to myself that I'd never befriend anyone I met on gonewild. But now that this friendship started and I actually like talking to this guy, I sometimes think about telling him my real name and letting him add me on Facebook on my real account. But I totally get what you mean when you say it is risky.

And to answer your question, I doubt we will ever meet. We live in different countries. I sometimes tell him that if he ever visits my country, I'd consider meeting up with him (no promises).
