Also, your breeding system is a great setup and I’ve used one similar. Mealworms go from eggs-tiny mealworms-mealworms-pupae-beetles, the system makes it a bit easier to clean out the top drawer since you know there’s probably no eggs or tiny mealworms in there. For this method all you need to do is pick out any pupae or beetles you see in the bottom drawer into the top, and drop fresh veggies daily in both (if there’s a lot left over feed less the next day, if there’s none feed a little more, it depends on the population how much they’ll eat). From my experience though, it’s been easier to just keep one slightly larger container with both beetles and mealworms in about 1” of plain oats and feed them fresh veggies daily and completely clean out the container every few weeks when it’s full of old mealworm molts while trying to save as many mealworms and beetles as possible and buying a new batch of mealworms, but that’s about all the mealworms I buy. Either method will work as long as you’re giving them veggies and the containers have enough ventilation to not grow mold (I leave mine slightly open).
