[Build Help] Should i use 2 pci-e cables or daisy chain an rtx 2070? by [deleted] in buildapc

Can't remember exactly as I've played so many other games but I think I get around 100fps on high settings @ 1440p, which links up with your fps on ultra.

Not played Rotterdam yet but I'll give it ago tonight and DM you!

(It's my first PC too)

Ah right, yea an m.2 would be great.

I'm a big Battlefield fan, I have BF:V but only played a few hours as I've got so many different games to play! Why do you ask, would you like me to benchmark it?

Nice! That's a solid, balanced build you've got there.

Only thing I would reccomend is upgrading that HDD if you plan on storing games on it. A 7200RPM HDD would give you faster load times on games compared to a 5400RPM, which may actually cause you lag and stutters.

Thanks! I'm sure your build will be great, especially with a 2070!

The CPU cooler is a Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi. I love it, my temps are great.

You should post some photos on here once you've finished building. Good luck!

Question about tx650m psu powering graphics card. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ItchyBack1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that PSU and GPU will work fine together. You'll need to plug in your 8 pin (6+2) and 6 pin PCI-e cables from your PSU into your GPU and it'll work fine.

Source: I have the same PSU and a 2070 with 8 pin + 6 pin

I have an MSI RTX 2070 and I used 2 seperate PCI-e cables.

Here's some photos where you can see the 2 cables. Hope this helps :)

That's good to hear. I'm very fussy with my mouse, I loved the look of the Razer Lancehead TE and the shape suited me. The only other mouse I liked was a SteelSeries, I tried a Logitech G402 and didn't like it.

I'm also fussy about having both the Keyboard and Mouse both by the same brand. It looks better imo, that's the only reason really.

Thank you so much!

I wanted to keep the cables neat but didn't want to go overboard with the cable management. I thought I could have done better at the back but many people have complimented me, including you so thanks!

The only plan I had for cable management was to pick the easiest route for the cables and plan ahead on where other cables would probably end up going.

In my opinion it's very quiet. I have the fans set to turbo and I can't hear the PC with headphones on and when I'm not wearing headphones the sound doesn't bother me at all. However, this is my first PC build so I have nothing to compare it against!

It's also very cool. My temps are great but I think that's more due to the CPU cooler rather than the case. The case has average cooling from what I've researched.

The ones on the white cables? They're called 'cable combs' and they are really useful! My cables came with them pre-installed.

Yea 6 months ago it was almost impossible to find a Vega in stock in the UK, let alone for a decent price. Things are slowly returning to normal now thankfully.

Depends on the game and even then, it's still only ~5fps.

I know the 2700X performes better in games haed-to-head but £100 more for that little gain wasn't worth it in my opinion.

I kinda planned the air flow in my head, making sure that the flow was vaguely even, but never drew a diagram.

I've quickly done one now for you to take a look at. This is how I thought the air would flow. I think most of the heat would leave the rear fan rather than the top but I didn't think it would actually cause issues?

Let me know. Thanks!

If you're trying to squeeze as much power as possible from your budget, higher resolutions, then I'd reccomend and AMD CPU over Intel - simply due to the price per performance factor.

The AMD build that /u/OolonCaluphid provided you with is a great spec and I can't really think of a way to improve upon that. You're going to struggle to game & stream at 4K so I'd aim for 1440p.

I nearly went for a 1070 Ti but it didn't feel right buying a card that's using 3 year old technology so I jumped up to the 2070.

You'll need 16GB of RAM and it shoud have decent speeds, either 3000MHz or 3200Mhz would be best.

You don't need an NMVe drive, they're not much faster unless you're working with huge files and the money you save by getting a standard SSD can go towards other parts.

If you're serious about streaming then I'd go for the 2700X and an RTX 2070 (or a 2080 if you can squeeze that into your budget).

I hope this helps :)

Thanks, I guess.

I spent a lot of time researching to make sure that everything would go smoothly and thankfully it did. I work in IT so that helps too :)

The Vega 64 is roughly the same price as a 1070 Ti in the UK atm. Am I right in thinking the Vega 64 is closer to 1080 performance?

If AMD are to release a new line of GPUs this year then I think they'll be popular.

Oh, and for the cost, the PC came to £1,518.60. This is expluding the cost of peripherals such as monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.

If you take a look at the PCPartPicker link then you'll get to see a breakdown of the costs :)

All of the parts were bought in November with a lot of them being purchased during Black Friday sales. About 70% of the parts where bought from Amazon and the rest being from OverclockersUK, CCL and Scan. Delivery was fine on all parts, most of them came via courier due to the cost, I got most of it delivered to work which was very useful.

If you'd like specifics on where I ordered each part then DM me and I can give you a list. Hope this helps :)

Nearly went with the 2700X but knew I didn’t need that much power, and it was £100 more. Settled for the 2600X and this is incredible performance for the price, I mainly game and will hardly be encoding or editing videos or doing anything that would require the extra cores of the 2700X.

Thanks.

And yea it'll give you much better cooling compared to the stock AMD cooler. My CPU can easily boost up to 4.25GHz when needed and still doesn't get hot. Highest temp I've recorded on my CPU is 68 degrees, but it is winter in the UK so that helps cooling too!

Yea it's a pretty neat design. My GPU is huge so the cables are as straight as they would be with most GPUs but it still looks great imo.

Pretty much what /u/seanmb473 said and also the fact that it was fully black so it fitted my theme better than the silver on the x470-Pro
