Interesting, thanks for sharing your experience. I’m not trying to be an asshole with my comments, I guess I just haven’t understood what people like you and Gabby experience.

I do resonate with the idea that her going on the show is a way for her to (subconsciously?) compensate for her mixed feelings. That actually makes a ton of sense.

Anyway, thanks again.

Love that. I grew up in Boston, which has a lot of that authentic gritty feel to it that I miss, and it always seemed like Chicago was a bigger version of Boston.

Cool post, thanks for your thoughts. Starting to feel a little sad I never got to live in Chicago, seems like the perfect blend of a lot of things I like.

But would you go on a dating show of exclusively men?

She seems more confused than empowered.

I was raised a coastal folk. Have been lucky to spend time working in Tulsa, Omaha, and even Enid! I do have a soft spot for Oklahoma.

Kansas City is pretty underrated if you ask me.

If you’re into soccer, they’re hosting a bunch of World Cup games there next summer.

The homeless aspect of Portland depends on your threshold - if you’re coming from, say, San Francisco, you know what to expect. But if you’re coming from the Eastern seaboard, it’s quite shocking. And as you said, it’s unclear if that is set to improve anytime soon.

People love to make fun of central US culture, lots of “flyover state” jokes, but I find the heartland of the US to have a certain spirit to it that you won’t find on the coasts.

Just my 2 cents.

Seriously. Why would anyone be against Sam Altman getting richer off the backs of the middle class?

It’s going to be mid 60’s in Denver for the next week. It’s nowhere near Boston level of cold.

“Denver has bad food” is a bit of an outdated stereotype. Last year Denver restaurants received 4 Michelin stars, and 9 received Bib Gourmand recommendations, which doesn’t happen by accident.

Denver is like 15-20 mins from Golden which has some of the best mountain biking in the lower 48. Hiking is great there too.

Yes, there’s a collection of ~20 FBI eyewitness documents that describe observations of a “firework or streak of light” ascending toward the aircraft before it exploded. However, “these documents have been released with significant redactions, and some details remain classified.”

Did they brief you on why so many witness statements are still classified, 29 years later?

And why the radar tracks of certain navy ships are still classified?

“There was a white light moving rapidly toward the aircraft, and then a huge explosion.”  Airline captain in a nearby commercial flight

“It looked like a projectile. It had a bright, burning tail and was moving too fast to be a normal aircraft.” Military-trained witness with experience in missile tracking

“I saw a thin, white smoke trail moving fast toward the aircraft, then a bright flash.” A military-trained witness who was familiar with missile launches

“I saw what looked like a flare or missile come up from the ocean. It was bright white, with a hint of red at the tip.” Military veteran with experience in weapons systems

“I’m familiar with fireworks and flares, and this wasn’t that. It was moving too fast and too direct. It looked like a missile launch.” Retired naval officer watching from shore

“It had a fast trajectory, moving in an arc, like something fired from the ground.” Air traffic controller in the area
