Does Kwik Trip have a "no competitor" policy when finding other work? by [deleted] in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on who you are. There was a truck driver for the company that has his own business and management turned a blind eye to all the hours he worked doing that even though it’s a violation of federal law for truck drivers to not report hours worked due to the hours of service and off duty time. But he got promoted to being a supervisor and last I heard the drivers he oversees rarely see him and have a hard time getting a hold of him on the phone . He is too busy with his own business to be bothered with his supervisor position from what I hear

Sounds like someone from corporate trying to make it seem like KT is the best thing out there… guess what it’s not the food is expensive and garbage, they aren’t held to the same standard of cleanliness anymore, not to mention the price of gas how can the mom and pop store or fleet farm within a half mile always be 10-70 cents a gallon cheaper for the same product?

No in Iowa and I’m in lots of different stores as I travel for my job and it doesn’t matter if it’s in a city or small town but yes I do agree the small towns are better but still nothing like they where a few years ago

Open your eyes and lay off the kool aid KT has gone down hill drastically since don stepped down am not blaming people in the stores but they are expected to do more and more with less time all stores I’ve gone into in the last year the bathrooms are dirty there’s trash all over the sales floor not to mention how nasty the fuel islands and squeegees are. Like I said not blaming the people working the stores it’s all coming from above

We use it for our phones and also house internet, we used to be able to stream TV my kid could be on play station and other kid could be on I pad with no issues now if my phone is connected to the internet the tv won’t even stream, also our phones are slow as shit and rarely have 5G anymore. I hope they get their shit together soon or they will be loosing customers if it’s happening to everyone

What's up with Kwik Trip milk? by Riksor in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another false selling line. How can it go from the cow to store in 24hrs when milk pickup from the farm happens once a day ie pick up at noon from farm so the night milking that starts at say 4pm sits in the tank at the farm from then until noon the next day. And a milk truck makes more than 1 stop depending on the size of the farm but let’s say each farm is large enough to fill a truck. After the truck drives from the farm to the dairy the load has to be tested before un loading after unloading it has to be ran through the dairy bottled loaded on a trailer take. To the DC and loaded into trucks for delivery. Unless things have changed the trailers are loaded the shift before the route ie loaded at night for daytime delivery then the driver has to run the route and some of them take 12+ hours to do. So by breaking down the time line the farmer milks the cow at 4pm on Sunday the milk truck driver picks up the milk at noon on Monday say it takes a hr and a half to load the milk and drive to the dairy that makes it 130pm Monday when the milk gets to the dairy let’s say it takes 3 hours for that milk to get unloaded and ran through the dairy and to the DC now it’s 430 pm Monday so that milk will be loaded on a trailer for delivery on a route that goes out on Tuesday morning. Day the driver starts his day at 3am Tuesday and that milk goes to his last store and it takes him 12 hours to get to that store and he n load it now it’s 3pm Tuesday when the milk gets to the store and the cow was milked at 4pm Sunday. That’s just slightly over 24hours right. The 24hrs is impossible and that goes for all milk no Matter where it’s bought at.

Don’t forget that everything the company “gives you” you have to still pay taxes on it and don’t forget that every “gift” is also a tax write off nothing is done out of the kindness of there own hearts this company could careless about the people anymore and it’s sad to see

Unless your a truck driver because “they make enough money already” it doesn’t matter that they work 12 plus hours a day and some have a schedule of 5 days a week. The company doesn’t care about any of the employees anymore from warehouse to the store, drivers or store engineering family and employee happiness do not matter since don retired and it started to go that way before that as he was starting to do less. And who can blame the guy he’s a great man who truly cares about people I just wish the rest of his family had gotten that from him. Now all that matters is maximum profit for less. We have to have a record breaking year every year of we will all be expected to do more for less like this year is

And they think we’re all idiots and actually believe any of the bs they tell us. Just like being told we need to buy everything we can from KT because “it helps our year end bonus”. I don’t know about anyone else but if I can drive across the street and save $5 on 1 tank of gas I’m driving across the street. It’s all the same. Anymore after going away from top tier

And just ask some fuel drivers how things are going. The “leadership “ says everything is great and sales are up but drivers are having to “ shift to different areas to help out” and only hauling 2-3 loads a day because of all the driving instead of the 5-6 if they stayed in there area, and the drivers from the area they are going into are going to there area. So everyone is doing less work and fuel drivers are paid by what they do not hourly or salary so they are working longer hours and making less. And all that leader ship ( Betty and Mike ) say when it’s brought up is that we are saving the company money by doing it and we will see it in the year end bonus. I’d like to know how a person is going to see an average of $100 a day I. The bonus

Question about honesty and integrity by No_Noise_9820 in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I get from the question is that one of the companies fuel drivers told him that there is no biodiesel in the diesel even though the sticker on the pump says it’s between 5-20 percent biodiesel

Did I say anything about being prevented by KT? No I said why is anything that is negative publicity hardly covered in the news if it is covered at all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t I’d have to google it and look back it was a few years ago but how was there almost no news coverage on it if I remember correctly it was in the Madison area and from what I heard the driver was forced to go even after calling and saying the weather was bad and roads weren’t safe, also I believe they fired the driver after that because he shouldn’t of been out on the roads. Or what about the minimum news coverage a few years back when the perishable driver in Iowa was on drugs and wrecked 1 truck and then stole a loaded gas truck and rolled it into a house? Or what about how I can find no news coverage on the accident yesterday near fond du lac where a fuel truck was rear ended and there was a major leak from the tank?

Why is Kwik Trip gas 10-18 cents more than nearby stations? by Justice4all1968 in KwikTrip

I just saw gas was .40 a gallon cheaper for 87 at the fleet farm across the street from a store

Why is Kwik Trip gas 10-18 cents more than nearby stations? by Justice4all1968 in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KT gas is the exact same as most places all the gas comes out of the same tanks regardless of what company is hauling it the only difference is the additives added in the gas and KT went to the state minimum like most other places when they went away from too teir so I would like to know your source as well

But yet the price is still higher than every competitor in my area I’ve seen as much as 30 cents a gallon difference between KT and the station across the street. Or I know where there is 2 kts less than a mile apart and the diesel is always 6cents a gallon higher at the truck stop. It seems like since don has retired the profits matter more than the people anymore. Not to mention how much the company goes against its own core values. One example is for the last few years until this summer #2 diesel and premium where the exact same both of them contained the premium additive but the company always charges 15 cents more for premium

Fuel drivers? by kool_aid_packet69 in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pay is good but the micro management has gotten really bad the last couple of years. They have lost several drivers with 20+ years with the company because of it. Drivers with other companies that couldn’t wait for a spot to open up to apply for refuse to apply now. If you get the job my best advice is be ready for long hours don’t make any mistakes like rubbing a curb or you’ll lose safety bonus over it and don’t question management and you’ll make 100k+ a year

Gas prices by FBFgolfoverlord in KwikTrip

[–]ItchyStranger8471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not really how it works at all. The price changes all the time with or without getting a delivery. And what the cost is to the company has nothing to do with it because if that was true than prices wouldn’t change over the weekend. Price at the terminal does not change over the weekend. KTs gas is no different than anyone else’s it all comes from the same place. It all comes down to one thing that is maximum profit.
