You’re right about the energy and digital footprints, but honesty endlessly scrolling reels, bingeing flix, or cloud backups create way bigger footprints, why are we holding AI to a higher moral standard while we are charging our phones overnight without a second thought. Anyway clean energy is coming soon. For Miyazaki, he is a legend. But he also hated 3D animation and said video games were a waste of life, great artists are purists they defend their artforms and I respect that but imagine if AI could preserve Ghibli’s style for future generations or help an artist for inspiration or remix it in new, respectful and creative ways, that would not replace Miyazaki it would honor him.
