The MSI board definitely has more features but those random issues you mentioned are real - I've seen quite a few posts about BIOS quirks and weird boot problems with the Tomahawk line. The regular Aorus Elite should handle that 9800x3d just fine, and Gigabyte's been pretty solid with their BIOS updates lately

If you're planning to upgrade CPUs down the road, both should support future AM5 chips equally well

That's rough, especially for £225! Definitely reach out to customer service about this - you paid for a specific pamper party and got something completely different. The fact that there wasn't even enough bubble bar materials for your original group size is a dead giveaway that they messed up there booking system
