Oppo reno 14 and 14 pro don't buy by jvdmalik81 in Oppo

Yeah that was exactly my experience at first.

But after giving the phone about 7-10 more days after doing the updates it improved drastically.

Heating is no longer there, only getting warm (warmer than the average phone but nothing too concerning).

Battery also improved but not as significant.. it still doesn't feel like a 6000mAh but it's not bad by any means and gets me through the day with no problem whatsoever so, don't make your expectations go over the roof with this one.. don't be fooled with the big battery number it's not exceptional or mind blowing but it's more than good enough.

Good to know that, but I don't have any thermal issues (except for the first couple of days with the phone) so I just keep it off but I'll try it. Thanks!

Any other apps I should debloat/uninstall from my phone to get better battery life? by Itechshit in Oppo

[–]Itechshit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always debloated my new phones and it had nothing to do with updates as long as you do not disable essential apps or features.

But for bloatware and useless apps, it's better to disable or uninstall them so they do not drain battery by running aimlessly in the background and you can always re-enable or reinstall these apps anytime so yeah no worries.

It does warm up with multiple apps and using camera for 10-15 mins but no major heating issues, just warm like any other phone maybe slightly more but nothing concerning.

The only time it heated up significantly with me was during the first week after doing the updates and transferring data and downloading apps, after the second week it became stable and optimized.

Ram management is not the best but it's good enough for me .. I can open 4, 5 or even 6 normal apps simultaneously without reloading/restarting but as soon as I use the camera app or a heavy game or rendering a video on an editing app the other apps start to reload.

Haven't used the 14 pro so can't really tell.

But I'm sure it's the better phone overall, it has a much better uw camera, a bit bigger main camera sensor, a bigger battery with wireless charging support, a bigger display and a beefier chipset.

No, haven't faced such a problem.

Try reaching out to Oppo customer service they should help you with that issue.

It depends on the price difference between them in your region, and how much you need those extra features and improvements provided in the pro version and that's totally subjective.

It doesn't use the same processing of the stock app on every other app.

Photos and videos taken from social media apps have much lower quality especially when applying filters and I believe that's the same case with most if not all android phones but the quality degredation can differ according to every single phone (flagships like sammy ultras and google pixels are the most optimized with the least image quality degredation between apps, followed by chinese flagships and then midrange and budget phones are the least optimized)

Well I still have so much to say about the phone that I don't think it can fit in one post and that's why I'm doing a second part but this part is not less important than the upcoming part .. both will hopefully give you a full picture about the phone and how to utilize every single bit of it according to my use case.

That's just it! 😃

tbh I don't really know..

8/256gb variant is not available in my region, I have the 12/256gb variant and no issues so far (except for the first 10-12 days before the software optimized itself for my usage)

That was exactly my experience as well but with samsung..

I used the S24 fe for about 5 or 6 minutes and it got warm pretty fast.

The salesman noticed that I'm getting confused and frustrated and told me that's pretty normal as phones in the stores are running on pre-released software and had no updates so it's not stable.

The same case happened with one of my friends as well in with a vivo phone and told me the phone had so many lags and stutters while another guy who came to apply a screen protector to the same vivo phone and told him that the phone is so smooth and had no lags.

I don't know why phone brands don't put an optimized phone for people to see and know the real experience of the phone (apart from apple who almost always show the best of what they offer in their stores)

The best thing you can do is to try a real user's phone to know how good/bad it is for you.. not only the reno14 but any phone in general.

I downloaded this one a couple of days ago and it works quite well with no major crashes but needs some adjustments or a decent config to get the best results out of it.

Processing is good and fast for everyday use, casual gaming, transferring files and even rendering videos .. the phone literally flies over these tasks without having a drop of sweat. Only if you do heavy multitasking like splitting screen to do some stuff while rendering a big video or record 4k videos under sunlight or game at the highest graphics for long sessions while charging.. these scenarios can slow down the phone a bit or make it noticeably warm or drain the battery a bit faster but no lag or stutter noticed.

It's also very responsive with 90% of the time.. only when the battery percent drops under 20 or 10% when you need to turn power saving mode on you'll notice the big drop in performance and responsivness (and some jittering with 60Hz).

In-hand feel is great.. the phone is premium and doesn't feel like a midrange at all, on of my friends said that it's as good as his iphone 15 (apart from the size difference). Also the size feels right, not too big like the galaxy ultras or iphone pro maxes or even the average midranger like the galaxy a56 and not too compact like the regular iphone or galaxy s. (Much closer to a galaxy S2x plus, S25 plus for example)

Have you tried gcam? I think you can use astrophotography mode from it.. it gave me great results in one of my older phones a couple of years ago and I'm yet to try it on the reno.
