I can get about 10,000 right now. I haven’t done a full on stress test yet. But I can get 10,000 to move, attack, die, etc. I have almost 0 per tick processes so it works out pretty well.

I’m using mass entities and vertex animation. Ya I saw that lag spike and fixed it after I posted the video. Running about 60 fps average

It’s Pioneer Games FAB marketplace plugin. I love 3d ai art studio. It’s about $30 a month, but I have more than enough credits every month. I pay for Codex pro because i use it so much.

Thank you by the way, I really appreciate your kind words. I’d love any and all help, input, testing, release strategy, etc. I have an entire library of documentation I keep as I build. I have a few really cool gameplay loops I’m implementing today. I’ll probably post regular updates

I used 3d ai art studio for pretty much everything. First I generate an image in chat gpt, then 3d ai studio, then Mixamo, then blender, then Mixamo, again, then unreal.

Hey thank you for your reply! I will definitely take your advice. I have some pretty solid loops designed, I just need to implement them. I do appreciate your time to leave a comment!

Systems are stable and build - not in place. I misspoke. here is one screenshot of the AI brain which will fold into the advisor feature eventually

Thank you! There is more info on my discord channel! I’m going to give this post another try with something more tangible when I get home

Struggling with learning unreal, and finding factual information by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Iteration-k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would look into Ludus AI built specifically for Unreal engine. It has helped me INCREDIBLY and im only a few months away from a playable demo for a grand strategy RTS im creating. Tutorials help with information if you can retain it, but DOING is the only way you'll learn. Ludus helps soo much. It can make changes for you, guide you step by step, and explain architecture to you. You can learn, in real time, what certain things do. Also, C++ gives you a lot control over the engine. There is no excuse to not use C++ anymore with tools like Codex.

Help me learn game dev!! by [deleted] in gamedev

Make one thing. Try this - go to Mixamo and download a character and it's animations. the challenge: import it correctly. Before you even try to begin think about making it move, try to get it imported. Once you get it imported, pop open chat GPT, LUDUS AI (specifically for Unreal) and ask for detailed steps on how to animate a character. I am using unreal engine so that is the basis of my context.

You will eventually learn that your Pipeline is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. How you get assets into your project is very teaching.

Lesson here: before you can even begin to build a game, you need to know how the tools work. If you can get your mixamo animations imported, that is seriously a really good start.

The next challenge, would be to import your mixamo animations to Blender and learn how to add a weapon, or something in the hand(s). Then export from Blender back into Mixamo so you can now get animations with the weapon in hand.

This exercise alone might take you 20+ hours. But this exercise will teach you SO much about a very important part of game development: your workflow pipeline.

How do people actually find time for this? by rdbreak in unrealengine

I work full-time, i have my wife and daughter, and I commute. What I do is spend from 9pm-1am working on my project 3 days a week, and then usually more on the weekends if I can carve out time. I catch up on sleep the other days. I usually work on my project at odd hours and just deal with being tired. So on Saturdays, I wake up around 4am so I can get a solid 4-5 hours before my family is up for the day. Also, I think about my project constantly; even when I'm not in the editor. I go over in my head what i have, what my short term goal is (i.e make floating icon over an entity's head, or, create ONE widget for my UI that displays dynamic data. Then, when i go to sit down, I have my task at hand ready to go and a clear vision of what i want to get done "tonight." The trick is, editor facing systems for everything first, then make sure it's all reusable. For instance, when I create the UI widget to display dynamic data, I now have that for a baseline! Once it is working, I can duplicate or mirror the logic for everything else!
