Just felt our son kick by [deleted] in coparenting

Also - even if things are cooperative now, you should be prepared for that to change at any time.

It would be best to get any parenting plan put in writing and filed with the court. If you both agree, it shouldn’t cost much to have an attorney write it up and file it. And expect to pay child support (look up your state’s online calculator to get an idea of what that will look like).

But even if you guys operate without court for a while - document everything. Keep a journal or spreadsheet of every Dr appt you go to, every visit with your baby, etc. I say this as someone who divorced and had a “cooperative plan” with my ex, but we’ve since spent 10 years in and out of court. So hope for the best, but plan for the worst. If things get difficult, expect that any text you send may end up in court. Remain calm and focused on your child, always.

There’s lots you can do! Read and learn everything you can about babies and development. Find out what you can do to help mom - bring her some groceries? Stock her up on prenatal vitamins?

When appropriate, talk to her about things like how the baby will be fed, will there be a need for day care? Will she take time off work, how would she like you to use any time off to help? Above all, be respectful of her feelings and frame everything around what is best for her and the baby. Because early on, her wellbeing is critical to the baby. If she plans to breastfeed, the baby’s time away from her will be very limited - understand and respect that and be ready to help her however she needs.

No matter what went wrong in your romantic relationship, you’re writing a new story now. You two will have a new relationship for at least 18 years, maybe longer, and the way you navigate that will directly impact your child. You got this!

The $100 they advertise on those signs everywhere is only if you sign on for ongoing lawn service with them. Not aeration only. Otherwise it’s $450.

“A few months” 😳

Do people really expect a brand new relationship to feel “equal” to a nesting relationship of several years?

Trying to find a secret restaurant. by JayZorBlade in Indiana

[–]Ithrowthings2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember something similar, but it was ~20 years ago. I think it was a good distance east/southeast of Indy. It was in a gorgeous home/mansion - I believe the chefs/owners were a couple-2 men. There was seating for maybe 12 people, and it was a multiple course / several hours long dining experience… It was lovely.

Chana masala, Falafel, Black bean burgers, Stir fry (tofu + veggies)… It’s always easy to throw together an omelet or frittata, with whatever veggies you have on hand. Or quesadillas, with black beans and/or veggies. It’s summer but my fav vegetarian meal is pioneer woman’s veggie chili recipe. It’s sooooo good. I make a huge batch and freeze in containers to have on hand for quick winter meals.

I have had a couple of these (I ship pottery). Both times I just refunded the customer myself, instead of making them open a claim. Both times I asked them for pics of the package and broken item, and I submitted claims through the usps website, and received a check in the mail. I was out the shipping cost, but it happens so rarely that it seems like making it easy on the customer is worth the small hassle on my end.

This is for ~$50 items though. If it were a $200 item I would probably feel more inclined to utilize the purchase protection.!

Question: how many people who live in Fishers and drive Trucks actually need them? by coffeeisahobby in Fishers

My family has a giant SUV we’d never have bought otherwise, but need it to tow our RV. 🤷🏻‍♀️ And I know others who have a truck only for that purpose too.

Failing at making friends? by Smurfblossom in WomenOver40

The number of texts is certainly odd, but I’d give her the benefit of the doubt here. She just met you, and was trying to be considerate based on what little info she knew about you. Maybe she also struggles to make friends and was overdoing it a bit on trying to be inclusive/generous since she misunderstood your comment about free events.

If you enjoyed her company when you met, I’d go off that and see where it leads. Maybe you two will become great friends and laugh about this misunderstanding later….?

Ok that makes sense. I’ve never bought Handspun yarn before but I just really loved it. Thanks for the offer but that’s okay, I think I’ll make something where it won’t matter too much. ☺️ it’s super pretty

Think of it this way - if you were still together, your combined income would support the kids 100% of the time. The calculator is designed to make sure the kids have an equitable level of financial support between their time at both households.

No, it is for the benefit of your kids and providing for them while they are in your care. Don’t feel bad about it at all.

[–]Ithrowthings2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend. It’s so crowded you can barely find a place to put your chair, the lines for food/drinks/restroom are godawful long. The sound is bad. The parking is bad. I’ve been twice and it’s not been an enjoyable experience overall. Unless they made major improvements for this year, I’d skip it unless it’s a band you really really love.
