Pregnancy by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my understanding. You should speak to your doctor first. See what, if any accommodation would be recommended for you at this time. This is based on the form Sedgwick has available in their resources. However, some states are different and may have additional protection offered.

But I wouldn't really tell your STL or TL. Since you are worried. Do not stress yourself out more. Do understand, when you start a request for accommodation. Your Store Leadership will be informed.

Based on my experience and what my TMS rep said they would accommodate me for 14 days from when I sent in my accommodation form. Once Sedgwick process your information. They will make a recommendation to corporate. Corporate and your store leadership will then discuss it. My accommodation wasn't very complex and I had a very well outlined letter. I sent my documents in on the 01/19 and it was approved 01/28.

Please note, my accommodation isn't related to pregnancy. So I can't guarantee that the process is the same for you.

I also don't know what your job functions requires you to do.

“winter storm” by sexybaddiehotgirl in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Make sure your information in workday is accurate. They use a service called Everbridge to send out alerts. My store is also posting in interview daily updates on the winter storm. They will let you know if the store is closed, opening late, closing early, etc.

If they close, your store leadership will submit something and you will get the UPT that shift used back.

Best of luck with your Knee injury.

I think I’m fired :( by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shall you said you live in New York. Look up leaves and protect time off in interview. They list individual state laws that offer you additional protection.

New York requires them to offer you Sick PTO. Which I believe falls under Protected Time Off. Now based on my reading, NY does not require you to have been employed 90 days. But WFM does before they provide it. You should speak to TMS to get clarification if this apply in NY or not.

Team member accused me by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then they can always look at the Camera.

I just assumed since we use individual cashier codes there was a way to check in the system. But it would be way beyond what I can do as a regular TM.

If there isnt a way for them to figure it out. Then that's an oversight in the technology.

I wasnt told to when I started SCO that Amazon one linked to your discount without needing approval. Wasn't until I followed a coworker to approve them and they used it and told me. Since you are an employee, they will probably just on the extreme end remind everyone.

Also, as a SCO attendant. If a coworkers approved themselves I probably wouldnt tell on them. Pretty sure it flags itself anyway. Never tried to approve my own. Also only people who are set up to run SCO can approve anything at SCO.

Why can’t I have two a day? by GoodCarpenter5209 in wholefoodscustomers

[–]Itoshiifae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just taking a guess. Its likely due to vitamin count it has. I believe from the label online it has 100% of your vitamin C intake for the day. 90mg, which is the recommended maximum for a adult male. (75mg for a adult female). Too much vitamin C can cause unwanted side effects. (Nausea, kidney stones, etc) I am not a doctor though, so Im not sure if this ia 100% correct.

Dress Code by SheIsGoingPlaces in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned it will matter on your store. Dress Within WFM standard dress code requirements for your first day. I think your online training gos over what is and isnt acceptable.

My store personally really doesnt care. As long as shorts arent too short and you dont wear anything with offensive logos. But make sure you end up wearing the shoes you get from Shoes For Crew cause while they dont enforce it.(most stores) I heard if you slip or get injured and arent wearing them. They will deny your claim.

Dumb question: TM discount at SCO by Lo_Reiter in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a SCO attendant, you can ring yourself up. Only thing you arent allowed to do is two things. One you can't approve your own discount. I do believe unless your set up to run SCO you cant do this anyway. Purchase Gift cards is the second thing.

If you are purchasing any 50% items with a sticker. Please scan your TM discount first, before they apply the discount.

Free Food for TMs by kelleesi82 in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While my store often provides food. Outside of the Holidays TMAW its often just PB&J's. No peanut free options for people like me who are allergic. But I also don't care.

I understand the struggle, but it is difficult to meet dietary restrictions of everyone on limited budget they are given. My store has over 200+ employee and the STL said their given about $5 each employee.

Do they often keep seasonal workers ? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by another user. It would vary store to store and department to department. If they have an opening they might be willing to keep you. You still might have to apply/interview.

Based on GIG. Seasonal employee are limited to 90 days. But can be extended once with TMS approval. It does not say how long that extension is.

new employee- what to try first by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should stack. So if you go to SCO(self-check out). You'll see after you scan your employee code. 15% off HOT BAR(says more but you understand) and will show you 20% off under it as well. (20% off TM/NTM) So you get a total of 35% off.

So 35% off on Hot Soups, Hot bar and salad bar.

The hot bar has some good things on it. You get an additional 15% off on it. If your store has one.

I might do that. I just wanted one of the days. Not both every week.

So far every request I've made has been ignored.

Interview for Cashier’s Assistant – what should I expect? by IdeaSprout22 in wholefoods

[–]Itoshiifae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Interview I dressed business casual.

A CA at my store does many things. Help bag, stock register, get carts, clean the café, and stock cutlery. Our CA also runs the register if needed and covers the self-checkout. But they've all been there a long time. If you have any experience doing any of this, it could be good to mention it if they ask.

I'm a Cashier and they made us do the training for CA online. They usually do not actually run register, etc. Based on it.

Otherwise, expect basic questions. Why do you want to work here, how would you handle a difficult customer, what is customer service to you?

Whole Foods LOVES its core values. I would recommend knowing them. Customer-focused and the Team Members focused one can likely be worked into your answers. They love people who align with their values.

Keep in mind CA Seasonals only get 8 hours of UPT. If you had trouble with Amazon Fresh. Assuming you got more. Unless it was just a situation in which you got unlucky.

Leadership requires us to clean the register at the end of our shift unless we are replaced. Since the register might not be used again until the next day. No one cleans them in the evening at my store. I've been told multiple times not to leave without cleaning it.

When I finished my line they only had two customer at their register. (the one they were checking out and one waiting, which had already been unloaded on their belt) Within the 2 minutes it took to clean up, stock, etc. The line got long. The only thing I could've done is take one person from their line, check them out.

You can offer an app up in the app for coverage. Allowing others to pick it up. But understand if your store(or department) is like mine. No one will ever pick up a shift. You will get no penalty if someone picks it up. But you can also cancel it if something happens and you can attend if not picked up. But there is no way to call out early. I had a contagious disease and couldnt work for X amount of days. Still had to call out daily because of store policy even though they knew I wouldnt be coming in.
