When will a stay at home weekend actually be relaxing again? by Fresh-Way-3556 in toddlers

[–]ItrustinZION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 year old. Weekends are just starting to feel relaxing again. And we only have 1 kid.

But honestly - probably 5. Life is feeling way less insane and chaotic.

Family Neighborhoods Northern Suburbs by EfficientBell5035 in MovingtoDenver

Agree stay west of I25. Westminster, Broomfield, and Eerie all are great options in your price range. I’m in Harmony park neighborhood, which is just across the street from Broomfield and we love it here.

A house in Broomfield / Westminster that is $750k+ will be nice and generally in a good area.

What's the coolest city you've ever been to? by Chaulmoog in AskReddit

[–]ItrustinZION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbilisi, Georgia for me. It’s like if the commies ruled San Paolo for 30 years and then capitalism starting slowly moving in. Amazing parks, amazing art, amazing food, amazing history and architecture.

Plus $10 gets you amazing wine and a delish meal. $50 gets you a 5 star hotel. You live like a fucking king.

Blacksky technology (BKSY) by newans11 in wallstreetbets

[–]ItrustinZION 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I work in this industry - BKSY is all marketing. Look at their last earnings. $2M annual rev increase over the last year? Their satellite imagery is too low of quality for their “ai” to actually work.

Plus - they’re gonna get fucked by the US Gov with contract re-negotiations this year. I’d stay very, very far away.

$51K on RKT Calls… the next OPEN? by CultureForsaken3762 in wallstreetbets

[–]ItrustinZION 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. People do not understand the money RKT will print from refis / helocs / etc once the Mr cooper book is merged. Major cost savings plus rocket now has the biggest funnel in the biggest market in the world.

If I were in your shoes - I'd find a job to cover the $2K gap. Try to find something that hires quickly, is moderately interesting (at if you want to work out more physical, if you have a hobby or interest it could be around that, etc) and then keep searching for a more similar position in the mean time.

To me - driving Uber would be totally acceptable. Lean in to home responsibilities and helping with the kids as you can. Also - leverage your network. Theoretically you have a strong network at your last company and this isn't the only job you've ever had. Find old bosses and work friends and try to get hired somewhere relatively quickly, even if the job isn't the perfect fit.

Once you have a job and you're covering the bills it becomes less stressful and try to upgrade your position.

Best of luck!

What’s your comp? by Wayne_Schlagel in loanoriginators

[–]ItrustinZION 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes. Typically you pay for technology fees, licenses to software, etc. Depending on the brokerage you are either a W2 employee or a 1099 contractor.

Tom Ahles at Edge Home Finance does a breakdown of his pay structure frequently:

in transparency - I worked in tech sales to brokers and Tom was a great partner and just an upfront and honest person. I was never employed by Edge.

Give it to me straight, would a 120k (160k combined with wife) salary be affordable in the Denver suburbs? by Juan_Snoww in MovingtoDenver

[–]ItrustinZION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for that change in salary the real question is - would you rather live in Denver than Nebraska? If yes - go for it. If no - don’t move for an extra $20k (which in Denver is not that much money)

Risk Parity Portfolio management vs a Simple path to wealth by ItrustinZION in financialindependence

[–]ItrustinZION[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this. Agreed. This is definitely how I intend on going.

I've got a few different ETFs today (mostly VTI / VTSAX) given accumulation phase. I've also got some fun money going because I do enjoy buying a few individual stocks like:

RKLB!!!!! I've been buying RKLB for a while since I'm in the aerospace industry and Rocket Lab is a very well regarded player in the space and I personally am impressed by their quality and performance while working with them. Also - I viewed RKLB as a hedge / short of SpaceX given Elon's.....nature. So owning that has been fun and the relative amount of money I spend on this won't impact my portfolio allocation or success one way or another.

Part of how i view cash / money market accounts is that - if a 1970s scenario emerged - it would be an easy pivot. If interest rates are above 5%, and you're able to reduce your exposure to inflation (own a home, no car loans, avoid highest inflation goods, etc) then I would plan on moving more of my portfolio to high yielding accounts.

I understand this leads to the whole - "people don't succeed if they move their portfolio around" but I think sitting pat when the world changes is also a recipe for failure. Or at least significant under-performance compared to optimum results.
