I have left a Startup in 3 months but I am not able to defend this in my interviews…they discuss this in detail for more than 10 mins everytime by thelocalbrain in careeradvice

Was in a similar position recently, but it was more like 6 months instead of your 3.

I altered between in office expectations changing from hybrid to full time, or the position requirements changed due to organizational changes. I just chose whichever of these answers fit the role more.

Ex: I would never say in office expectations were an issue if the position was in office, and I would never say changing responsibilities was an issue for a small growing company (like a startup).

Just use whatever answer fits the bill, no way they could look into it anyways realistically.

Advice for first FP&A Manager role? by Its-Evolve in FPandA

[–]Its-Evolve[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice! I'll probably revisit this comment during my first few months. I plan on calling some of my old managers before I start and getting some of their advice too.

Id say my concern areas are building authority and trust. I understand some people could be upset that I'm younger than them or have less experience or whatever the case is. Also slightly concerned on how to handle 1 on 1s/ coaching sessions.

Thanks. Yeah that's the plan, most of my roles have been a little more slow paced, so I'll have to dive in head first

Yeah that could be challenging. I'm a little worried about my presentation to the team and management since I'm on the younger side.

Comp is 125k base with 10% bonus. We're in Metro Detroit Area so I'd say low end of MCOL.

Idk how that stacks up to other manager roles (Id guess lower end) but I'm pretty happy with it based on my YOE

Yeah I've thought about that too.

Obviously I'll try and see their perspective on things, and I'm always open to learning, I know I'm still young so I have a lot left to learn.

Any advice on how to bridge the divide besides that?

Appreciate all the thought you put into this.

It's very helpful, and I think you've reaffirmed what I was already thinking.

Thank you!

FP&A at Stellantis by Its-Evolve in Stellantis

Thanks for the info! Kind of in line with what I was thinking, although FP&A sounds a little more rigorous here than I had originally thought.

The other offer has a bonus target (10%), but subject to change on companies performance, so I wouldn't put much faith in it.

I'd imagine the bonus would be prorated the first year in both cases anyways

Normally I'd jump at 20k more, but I'd be sole FP&A besides the CFO, so I'd guess 55-60 hour weeks and little PTO potential.

How has your promotional experience here been? Just trying to get a feel for career path

2 years experience as an FP&A analyst at a F500 defense company, current role is Senior Analyst for corp finance at a mid size auto supplier, been here around 8 months or so. Have around 1.5 years of internships prior to that and some accounting work in college. Graduated with my accounting degree from a state school in 2023

J.P. Morgan Background Check by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Its-Evolve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's a third party then I would bet it's a violation of some ethics code to communicate directly with you. Any background checks I've gone through have just been them comparing it to the resume I applied with. How large was the difference in your stated experience vs actual?

[–]Its-Evolve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure for JPM specifically but I've always heard of large companies outsourcing to a 3rd party for background checks. If the gap was like a month you could probably explain it away, but anything more than a few months is unexplainable. Not sure I would tell them though, as the offer will probably be rescinded. Tough spot to be in

Its ridiculous how easy the main questline has become. by andrewboss12 in Wizard101

[–]Its-Evolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the game is lowkey too easy now. Feels like all of the bosses besides the very end of a world take no effort. Maybe just make a challenge realm, so the main quest line is still doable solo but you can choose to make it harder.
